NDMC to Host Three Evenings of Classical Music Under “Music in the Park” Series at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri
Renowned artists including Dr. L. Subramaniam (Carnatic violinist), Ms. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande (Hindustani vocalist), Mr. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar (sarod player), Mr. Sanjay Subramanyan (Carnatic vocalist), Mr. Uday Bhawalkar (Hindustani vocalist), and Begum Parveen Sultana (Hindustani vocalist) will enthrall audiences with their performances.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, is organizing a three-day classical music festival from March 29 to March 31, 2025, under the “Music in the Park” series at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The concerts will take place every evening from 6:30 PM onwards. Entry to the event will be from Neeti Marg and is free for all.
Marking the 21st year of this prestigious musical tradition, NDMC, in association with SPIC MACAY, proudly presents three enchanting evenings dedicated to Indian classical music. This festival will feature performances by six legendary maestros along with 12 other eminent artists, offering Delhi’s music lovers and the general public an open-air celebration of India’s rich classical heritage.
Set against the lush greenery of Nehru Park, these concerts aim to pay homage to India’s cultural legacy. Audiences will experience an immersive and transcendental atmosphere, with performances showcasing unique ragas across different classical music traditions.
Event Schedule: A Star-Studded Lineup
Day 1 – Saturday, March 29, 2025
The festival will commence with a performance by Dr. L. Subramaniam (Carnatic violinist) and Mr. Ambi Subramaniam, accompanied by:
- Mr. N. Radhakrishnan (mridangam)
- Mr. Akram Khan (tabla)
- Mr. Ganesan Natarajan (kanjira)
This will be followed by a Hindustani vocal recital by Ms. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, supported by:
- Mr. Vinod Lele (tabla)
- Mr. Vinay Mishra (harmonium)
Day 2 – Sunday, March 30, 2025
The second evening will feature:
- Mr. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar (sarod) accompanied by Mr. Eeshan Ghosh (tabla).
- Mr. Sanjay Subramanyan (Carnatic vocalist) accompanied by:
- Mr. S. Varadarajan (violin)
- Mr. Neyveli B. Venkatesh (mridangam)
Day 3 – Monday, March 31, 2025
The grand finale will include:
- Mr. Uday Bhawalkar (Hindustani vocalist) accompanied by:
- Mr. Sukhada Munde (pakhawaj)
- Mr. Prasanna Vishwanathan (vocal support)
