Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Classical Music Festival to Be Held in Mumbai

Mumbai – The Directorate of Cultural Affairs will be organizing the Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Classical Music Festival from April 25 to 27, 2025, at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai. The festival will take place daily from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The event is the brainchild of Minister of Cultural Affairs and Information Technology, Adv. Ashish Shelar, and is being conducted under the guidance of Vikas Kharge, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary of the Cultural Affairs Department.

On Friday, April 25, the festival will open with performances by renowned vocalist Vidushi Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande and Ustad Shahid Parvez. On Saturday, April 26, the second day will feature classical renditions by Dr. Bharat Balavalli and Vidushi Manjushha Patil. The festival will conclude on Sunday, April 27, with performances by veteran vocalists Pt. Anand Bhate and Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar.

This classical music festival is open to the public free of charge. Complimentary entry passes are available at Ravindra Natya Mandir (Prabhadevi), Chhatrapati Shivaji Natya Mandir (Dadar), and Yashwant Natya Mandir (Matunga).

Director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Vibhishan Chavare, has invited all music lovers to attend and enjoy this celebration of Indian classical music.
