Education is Top Priority in Chhattisgarh: CM Vishnu Deo Sai Announces ₹100 Crore Education City in Bilaspur

Raipur : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Government of Chhattisgarh is giving top priority to quality education and the holistic development of students. In a historic move to transform Bilaspur into a modern educational hub, an ambitious plan has been initiated to establish an Education City in the city.

As per the Chief Minister’s directive, the concept of Bilaspur Education City has been developed, and approximately 13 acres of land under the Bilaspur Municipal Corporation has been earmarked for the project.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai announced that a Nalanda Campus would be established within the Education City, accommodating 500 students simultaneously in a combined physical and digital library space. In addition, three multi-storey buildings will be constructed, each housing a total of 48 classroom units (1 hall, 2 rooms, and 1 toilet per unit), making it possible for 4,800 students to attend coaching classes at the same time.

To promote academic and personal growth, a state-of-the-art auditorium with 700 seats will be built, along with hostel facilities for approximately 1,000 outstation students.

The Education City will also include an AstroTurf sports ground and a beautifully landscaped garden to promote fitness and recreation. A multi-level parking facility will ensure smooth and organized transportation access.

The project, estimated at a cost of ₹100 crore, will be implemented by the Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, and construction is expected to begin soon. CM Sai emphasized that this initiative will set a new benchmark in education infrastructure for the state.

Since the formation of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur has made remarkable strides in the field of education. The city is home to SECL headquarters and the DRM office of Indian Railways. It houses a central university, two other universities, eight colleges, the Public Service Commission, Vyapam, and around 100 coaching centres preparing students for prestigious exams like IIT and others—serving over 50,000 students from across the state.

**“The Chhattisgarh Government places education among its highest priorities. Our firm commitment is to ensure that every student in the state has access to modern resources, quality infrastructure, and an inspiring environment to realize their full potential.

The construction of the Bilaspur Education City is a landmark step in this direction. It will not only establish Bilaspur as an educational hub of the state but also offer thousands of students world-class facilities to pursue their academic goals and competitive exam preparations.

From Nalanda Campus and coaching towers to digital libraries, hostels, auditoriums, sports grounds, and green zones—every element will contribute to the all-round development of our youth.

I am confident that this project will elevate Chhattisgarh’s educational landscape to new heights and empower our youth towards a bright and promising future.”**
