Inauguration of the Center of Excellence in Robotics and Automation by Minister Chandrakant Patil.

Pune : The inauguration of the Center of Excellence in Robotics and Automation, jointly established by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education and Government Polytechnic Pune, was conducted by the state’s Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Chandrakant Patil. He emphasized the government’s efforts to provide high-quality education and training through the medium of government polytechnics to create skilled human resources capable of meeting global demand.

The inauguration of the Center of Excellence in Robotics and Automation, jointly established by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education and Government Polytechnic Pune, was conducted by the state’s Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Chandrakant Patil. The event was attended by MLA Siddharth Shirole, Director of Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education Dr. Pramod Naik, Deputy Director Dr. Dattatray Jadhav, Secretary Dr. Mahendra Chitalange, Principal Dr. Rajendra Patil, and others.

Minister Patil stated that enhancing excellence is crucial to not only meet global demand for skilled manpower and production but also to provide students with high-quality education and training through government polytechnics. He emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing collaboration between government institutions and industries to facilitate student amenities. The central government is also prepared to allocate funds for the development of government technical education sectors. Consequently, government technical institutions are poised to introduce new initiatives and provide optimal facilities in alignment with these goals, as affirmed during the session.

The government is steadfast in enriching government technical institutions comprehensively. Such institutions play a pivotal role globally in managing skilled manpower demands, necessitating the provision of adequate facilities. Hence, the government has approved three Centers of Excellence in the state, with the first one commencing in Pune. Among the 41 technical institutions, computer laboratories have been established to increase capacity to accommodate 1,600 students.

The government is encouraging girls’ education by making free education available to them. Minister Chandrakant Patil proposed establishing girls’ hostels in government technical institutions to support this initiative.

MLA Shirole added that government technical institutes hold historical significance, and establishing the first Center of Excellence in such buildings is of paramount importance. These institutes provide experiential learning, making modern technology readily accessible. He extended best wishes for the global success of students benefiting from such facilities.

Dr. Naik, Director of the State Board of Technical Education, highlighted that the Center of Excellence at the technical institute, equipped with modern industrial robotics technology for student practice, is the first of its kind. This center is aptly suited to provide employment and skilled manpower to industries.

Principal Dr. Patil provided information on the preliminary details of the Center of Excellence in Robotics and Automation and the government technical institute.

At this juncture, Minister Patil inaugurated a multifunctional computer laboratory.
