Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai Meets Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Shares Progress on Anti-Naxal Operations in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Aug 25 : Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnudev Sai, paid a courtesy visit to Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah at the Parliament House today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed several key issues with the Union Minister, including the overall development of Chhattisgarh and strategies to combat the Maoist challenge.

Shri Sai briefed the Union Home Minister on the achievements of anti-Maoist operations and the roadmap for future action. He shared that the state has achieved significant success in operations against Maoist activities over the past 18 months. Since December 2023, 445 Maoists, including top leaders, have been neutralized in 33 major encounters. Additionally, 1,554 Maoists have been arrested, and 1,588 have surrendered.

He emphasized that under the state government’s policy of “Integrated Development and Security,” the aim is to completely eliminate Maoist influence. Efforts are underway to expand infrastructure, including roads, education, and healthcare services. These initiatives have not only reduced Maoist activities but also increased public confidence in the administration.

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah appreciated the Chhattisgarh government’s efforts in eradicating Maoism. He termed the state’s achievements as historic and assured full support from the central government in this mission.

The meeting also included discussions on preparations for the upcoming Amrit Rajat Mahotsav 2025, marking 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s formation. Chief Minister Sai said that elaborate arrangements are being made to celebrate the event in a grand and memorable manner. The celebration aims to showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage, social unity, and economic progress on a global platform.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to Shri Shah for his guidance and support in the development and security of the Bastar region.
