Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar inaugurates ‘Wild Vegetable Festival’
Beed, Aug 2025 : The Agriculture Department organized an exhibition of wild vegetables available during the monsoon season in the premises of the Social Justice Bhavan here. Today, the festival was inaugurated at the hands of Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar. A display of various wild vegetables was arranged at the event. On this occasion, he visited the stalls, inspected the wild vegetables, and obtained information about them.
Present at the event were MLAs Sandeep Kshirsagar and Vijaysingh Pandit, District Collector Vivek Johnson, District Superintendent of Police Navneet Kowat, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Jitin Rehman, District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Subhash Salve, along with heads of all departments and other officials.
During the visit, Deputy CM Pawar toured all the stalls at the exhibition and learned about different wild vegetables. The exhibition featured a variety of wild vegetables and also made them available for sale. These included yam, takla, pathari, bhui-ambali, kapalphodi, tarota, fig, chigur, sarate, ghol bhaji, kena, drumstick, and kartuli. Dishes made from these vegetables were also showcased, along with demonstrations of their recipes.
The festival saw the participation of women farmers, self-help groups, farmer collectives, as well as individual farmers.
