Teachers Deserve Respect, Not Political Pressure, Says Manish Sisodia

  • “The AAP government sent these teachers abroad for training, but now the BJP government is making them clap at rallies.” – Manish Sisodia
  • “BJP has nothing to do with education. Its conspiracy is to provide poor-quality education and keep people uneducated.” – Manish Sisodia
  • “In just six months, BJP has ruined Delhi so badly that now no one is even willing to go listen to Modi ji.” – Sanjay Singh
  • “BJP’s politics is over. They can hold artificial rallies, but it will bring them no benefit.” – Sanjay Singh

New Delhi, Aug 2025 : Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Education Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, expressed shock over government orders forcing teachers to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally. Calling it deeply shameful, he said that sending teachers to clap at the PM’s rally is an insult to their profession, and BJP must apologize.

Sisodia said that during the AAP government, teachers were sent abroad for professional training, but now the BJP government is making them stand in rallies to applaud. He accused the BJP of having no concern for education, alleging that the party deliberately promotes poor-quality education to keep people uneducated.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a road in Delhi. While acknowledging the project itself as positive, Sisodia criticized the BJP for issuing official orders to bring in Delhi’s teachers as an applauding audience. He said it was shameful that the Prime Minister’s road inauguration was treated as such a spectacle that government school principals and teachers were forced to attend to clap when the ribbon was cut.

He added: “We all know BJP has nothing to do with education. It wants to keep this country’s people backward through poor education. But I never thought things would stoop so low that thousands of Delhi teachers, who barely get Sundays off to rest or spend with their families, would be summoned just to clap at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.”

Quoting an old saying about the reverence for teachers – ‘Guru Govind dou khade, kake lagu paay; balihari guru aapne, Govind diyo batay’ – Sisodia said the current situation was the opposite: “Here Modi ji and the teachers both stand, Modi cuts the ribbon, gives a speech from the stage, and the teachers are made to clap from below. Is this the responsibility of teachers? Forcing teachers to do this is an insult to the profession. BJP should apologize to Delhi’s teachers.”

Sisodia contrasted the situation with the AAP era: “When Arvind Kejriwal’s government was in power, teachers were sent for training to Finland, Cambridge, Singapore, and IIMs. That was the order then. But today, the order is to gather teachers at a road inauguration to clap. This is a disgrace.”

Meanwhile, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also attacked the BJP, saying: “No one is even willing to go listen to Modi ji anymore. BJP’s politics is finished. In just six months, they have ruined Delhi. School fees have been increased, parents assaulted, power cuts last six hours, roads have turned into drains, houses are collapsing, and people are dying. The BJP has displaced and destroyed UP, Bihar, and Purvanchal residents who had been living in Delhi for decades. This is why no one is attending Modi ji’s events, and now they are forcing sanitation workers and school teachers to fill the crowd. They can hold such artificial rallies, but it will bring them no gain.”
