Stamp Duty Exemption for Tata Memorial Centre’s Cancer Hospital in Raigad
Tata Memorial Centre is setting up a 100-bed Integrated Ayurvedic Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Tambati (Taluka Khalapur) in Raigad district. In today’s Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, approval was granted to exempt stamp duty on the lease agreement for the 10-hectare land allotted for this hospital.
The state government has allotted 10 hectares of land at a nominal rent of ₹1 per year. Tata Memorial had requested waiver of stamp duty on the lease deed. The hospital will benefit citizens from rural Raigad as well as nearby towns by providing cancer treatment and healthcare facilities. Out of the 100 beds, 12% will be reserved for patients from poor families, below-poverty-line groups, and government employees. Cancer treatment at concessional rates under government schemes will also be offered. Additionally, one attendant per patient will be provided with affordable accommodation. These conditions were attached while approving the stamp duty exemption.
