CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurates new temple at Digambar Jain Temple complex in Shravasti

Shravasti/Lucknow, Sept 27: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized those who disturb peace, saying such behavior reflects the mindset of people who have never shown calmness or self-restraint. He observed that some individuals, upon gaining even a small amount of wealth, become arrogant and try to take away the peace of others. They attempt to disrupt celebrations, dampen enthusiasm, and create obstacles in the system, all while ignoring the timeless teachings of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna.

The CM recalled the examples of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, saying, “When the terror of demons spread, Lord Ram vowed to rid the earth of evil. Lord Krishna emphasized that every righteous person must protect virtuous power and eliminate evil for the order of creation to progress. Virtuous power advances through the words of great men, religion, and public welfare, while evil power thrives on exploitation and denies peace.”

On Saturday, CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the newly constructed temple at the Digambar Jain Temple complex in Shravasti. He performed darshan, worship, and aarti, touring the temple and paying homage to the tradition of 24 Jain Tirthankaras, from Lord Rishabhdev to Lord Mahavir.

The CM said that Lord Rishabhdev was the first king of Ayodhya. After many generations in this tradition, Lord Shri Ram was born. King Bhagirath, who brought Mother Ganga to earth, and the great devotee King Dilip also belonged to this lineage. Lord Ram’s elder son Lav made Shravasti the capital and gave new momentum to this region.

The CM said that New India’s new Uttar Pradesh does not tolerate oppression, injustice, exploitation, or unrest. UP has now become the land of festivals, not disturbances. The government is guaranteeing respect and security to every citizen, as it is the moral responsibility of the state. The government will enhance heritage but will also deal strictly with those who attempt to compromise security. This, too, is the essence of religion.

The CM said that the land of Uttar Pradesh is fortunate that 16 of the 24 revered Tirthankaras incarnated here. Ayodhya and Kashi are renowned as sacred lands of Jain Tirthankaras, and their grace can still be witnessed today.

He said that last year, he had visited Lord Rishabhdev’s temple in Ayodhya and was blessed with the darshan of Maa Gyanwati. The Jain tradition is based on perfection achieved through restraint and penance. Their practices of meditation, penance, and restraint are extremely difficult.

The CM added that the saints associated with the Jain tradition, through their teachings, and the followers immersed in this tradition, have upheld it through discipline and penance. In the puranic era, the third Jain Tirthankara, Lord Sambhavnath, was born on the sacred land of Shravasti as the son of King Jitari.

The CM said that India’s tradition has always believed that there are no differences regarding religion. Paths may be different, but the goal remains the same. By following these paths, Jain followers have always upheld and strengthened India’s Sanatan tradition. This is an extremely supreme tradition.

On this occasion, MLA Rampheren Pandey, Legislative Council member Saket Mishra, District Panchayat President Daddan Mishra, BJP District President Mishrilal Verma, Amit Jain, Sanjeev Jain, Mahendra Jain, and others were present.
