Solar-Powered UAV Steals the Show at UPITS – Yogi Government Showcases New Dimension of Self-Reliant India

Greater Noida, Sept 2025 : At the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS), a solar-powered high-endurance UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) has emerged as a major attraction. Fully electric and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, this drone is unique in many respects. With a ceiling of 5 kilometers, it can stay airborne for up to 12 continuous hours on a single flight.

Manufacturers revealed that the UAV can easily take off from a runway as short as 200 meters. Its operation is simple and requires only a two-member team, including one pilot, for control. Remarkably, its entire setup can be ready within just 30 minutes.

Yogi Government’s Vision of Innovation and Security

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been consistently working to transform Uttar Pradesh into a hub of defense production and startups. Under his leadership, the state has seen rapid progress in defense corridors and technological innovation. This UAV is a symbol of that vision, built with nearly 75% indigenous components. Its display at UPITS reinforces the government’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and the Make in India initiative.

Developed with Special “Auxiron” Technology

The UAV features an innovative patented technology called Auxiron, designed to tilt its wings to capture maximum sunlight. This boosts solar energy output, significantly extending the drone’s flight duration. Auxiron not only reduces aerodynamic drag but also helps the UAV maintain straight, slip-free flights.

Thanks to this technology, the UAV can fly an additional eight hours during the day and carry a four-hour battery backup at night, giving it a remarkable endurance capacity.

Defense and Civil Applications

This UAV is particularly suited for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. According to its developers, it has a wide range of defense and civilian uses, including:

  • Border surveillance and monitoring enemy activities
  • Pipeline and powerline inspection
  • Search and rescue operations
  • Disaster management and relief efforts
  • Precision agriculture and environmental monitoring

Future Plans

The company also announced plans to begin work on a High-Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) UAV program in June–July 2025. Dubbed a “pseudo satellite”, this system will be capable of staying at high altitudes for extended periods, revolutionizing border monitoring, early warning systems, and communication networks.

At UPITS-2025, the UAV stall drew large crowds and representatives from the defense sector eager to understand its advanced features up close. Observers noted that under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is taking flight in the fields of defense and drone technology, signaling a promising future for indigenous innovation.
