Special Session on Healthcare at Rajasthani Diaspora Day – Rajasthan Has Potential to Become Health & Wellness Capital

Jaipur, December 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that Rajasthan has all the potential and capacity to become a health and wellness capital. With continuous efforts of the state government and the support of diaspora Rajasthanis, this dream can soon be realized. He said that Rajasthan is moving rapidly towards achieving 100% targets under Sustainable Development Goal 3 and Universal Health Coverage by 2030. He added that the state offers immense investment opportunities in super specialty hospitals, medical tourism, technology transfer, One Health research centers, pharma and medical device manufacturing, AI, and other sectors. Diaspora Rajasthanis can play a crucial role in these areas.

The Chief Minister was addressing a special session on healthcare at JECC on the occasion of Rajasthani Diaspora Day. He said that the state government is working with improved policies to encourage investment in the health sector. Continuous expansion of medical colleges is underway; in the past two years, 7 new medical colleges have been started and work is ongoing for the establishment of 15 new medical colleges. About 2,200 new MBBS, PG, and super specialty seats have been added in two years. Rajasthan is now moving forward with One Health, integrating human, animal, and environmental health.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has initiated the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Scheme, ensuring cashless treatment up to ₹25 lakh for every individual. Under this scheme, 35 lakh people have received free treatment. The free diagnostic scheme has conducted 3 billion tests, providing relief to 9 crore patients. Under the free medicine scheme, 10.34 crore patients received free medicines, including completely free treatment for serious illnesses. Under the Ayushman Voucher Scheme, 2.25 lakh pregnant women received free sonography. Due to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s efforts, AYUSH medicine has reached over 100 countries, and Rajasthan government is promoting AYUSH systems, creating new opportunities for investors in this sector.

Rajasthan Sets Example in Universal Health Coverage – Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar

Health and Medical Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar said that Rajasthan’s health model sets an example for Universal Health Coverage. In the near future, world-class medical institutions will be established, and the health infrastructure will be further strengthened, with a significant role for the private sector. He noted that MOUs signed during Rising Rajasthan are being implemented rapidly, and the state’s “Heal in Rajasthan” policy is a major step to attract medical tourism.

Health Given Top Priority in Budget

Shri Khimsar said that the government’s commitment to health is reflected in allocating over 8% of the total budget to the health sector in recent years. Medical institutions have been transformed into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, providing 12 types of services, and telemedicine has enabled better health services in villages and rural areas.

Addressing Human Resource Gap in Mission Mode

He said that to overcome human resource shortages, recruitment for 35,000 positions has been completed in mission mode, with over 27,000 appointments done and 15,000 positions under process. Around 10,000 patients receive free treatment worth ₹10 crore daily under the scheme. Jaipur is being developed with RIMS on the lines of AIIMS, emphasizing high-standard healthcare. He stressed digital health models, making services transparent, fast, and accessible, and diaspora Rajasthanis can play an important role in strengthening the state’s healthcare system.

Healthcare as a Fundamental Right – Minister Shri Avinash Gehlot

Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Shri Avinash Gehlot said that health is a fundamental right of social justice, meaningful only when all communities have equal access to safe healthcare. Under CM Shri Bhajanlal Sharma’s leadership, Rajasthan is advancing rapidly in investment, with MOUs from Rising Rajasthan being implemented swiftly. Rajasthan’s health sector is top-class, making services accessible to all. He emphasized that diaspora Rajasthanis’ experience and support in education, health, rehabilitation, and social welfare will provide new direction to overall state development.

Maternal and Child Health Given Top Priority – Minister Dr. Manju Bagmar

Women & Child Development Minister Dr. Manju Bagmar said that maternal and child health is the state government’s top priority. Interventions like anemia control, safe motherhood, newborn care, adolescent nutrition, HPV vaccination, and Anganwadi modernization are showing significant improvement in health indicators. She appealed to diaspora Rajasthanis to contribute with expertise in women’s health, nutrition, digital monitoring, and mental health initiatives to strengthen the state’s health system.

Building Digital and Patient-Centric Health Infrastructure – Secretary Gayatri Rathore

Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Department, Smt. Gayatri Rathore said Rajasthan has made significant progress in creating modern, digital, and patient-centric healthcare infrastructure. Over 6.38 crore ABHA IDs have been created. IHMS, e-Sanjeevani, and QMS have improved hospital efficiency. Rajasthan is moving toward AI-based screening, digital monitoring, and remote care, while old medical colleges will be developed as tertiary healthcare excellence centers.

Experts Share Insights

Experts including CII Rajasthan Vice President Shri Rajneesh Bhandari, Dr. Jayveer Singh Rathore, Dr. Vipin Goyal, Shri Sanjay Jhavar, Dr. Mohanlal Swarnkar, Prof. Vimal Sharma discussed innovation-based healthcare models, diaspora roles in SDGs, women’s health, digital health, and med-tech.

The session was attended by Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary AYUSH Shri Subir Kumar, other officials, a large number of diaspora Rajasthanis, and health sector experts. RMSCL Managing Director Shri Pukhraj Sen thanked all guests and participants.
