At Women’s Empowerment Conference in Jhalawar, CM Bhajanlal Sharma Highlights Women as Pillars of Nation-Building; Announces Major Development Works
On the occasion of the completion of two years of the state government, a Women’s Empowerment Conference titled “Nav Utthan–Nayi Pehchaan, Badhta Rajasthan–Hamara Rajasthan” was organised in Jhalawar. Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that women are the foundation of every family and true architects of nation-building. He stated that the development of the country is possible only through women’s empowerment. The state government is committed to making women self-reliant and is determined to protect the Aravalli mountain range. He also dedicated various development projects to Jhalawar.
Jaipur, December 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that the development of our nation, where half the population comprises women, is possible only through women’s empowerment. Women are the backbone of families and true architects of nation-building. He added that women are playing an important role in the state’s progress and that the government will leave no stone unturned to uplift women. Shri Sharma said that the government is determined to protect the Aravalli mountain range and will not allow any interference or damage to it.
Shri Sharma was addressing a Women’s Empowerment Conference held at Dudhalia in Jhalawar as part of the celebrations marking the state government’s successful completion of two years. He said Rajasthan is the land of brave women such as Rani Padmini, Rani Karnavati, and Hadi Rani, whose courage and sacrifice made Rajasthan a land of valour. On the occasion of the state government’s successful two years, the administration is travelling across regions to communicate with every segment of society, including the poor, youth, women, and farmers. He said today’s event is not just a conference but a celebration of respect for women.
Major Announcements by the Chief Minister:
Shri Sharma announced the installation of 100 hand pumps, 50 tube wells, and 25 kilometres of pipelines for drinking water in urban and rural areas of Baran–Jhalawar. He also declared that a DPR would soon be prepared for a dam on the Chhoti Kalisindh river in Dug Chaumahla area.
He said that a Centre of Excellence would be established at the Animal Research Centre in Dug for the conservation and improvement of indigenous cattle breeds. The centre will work on the preservation, upgradation, and development of Malvi, Gir, and other local breeds, and will be equipped with modern facilities like advanced dairy technology, breeding, and artificial insemination. The project will cost approximately ₹15 crore.
Women – Drivers of Social Change:
The Chief Minister said that women are advancing in every field. They not only manage households but also play a vital role in strengthening the state and country. Rural women, in particular, are shaping future generations despite limited resources. He noted that women who once worked with tools like sickles and spades now operate tablets and laptops. Through self-help groups, women are becoming financially self-reliant and are leading social transformation.
10 Lakh Pregnant Women Benefited Under PM Matru Vandana Yojana:
The Chief Minister said the double-engine government has taken several steps to uplift women across the state. Under training programmes, 19.45 lakh women were trained and more than 12 lakh became Lakhpati Didis. To promote girls’ education, 10.51 lakh bicycles and 39,586 scooters were distributed to schoolgirls. The government is also providing free sanitary napkins every month to 1.22 crore women and girls.
He said the financial assistance under PM Matru Vandana Yojana has been increased to ₹6,500, benefiting nearly 10 lakh pregnant women. Similarly, 2.26 lakh women have benefited under the Maa Voucher Yojana. Around 500 Kalika Patrolling Units have been set up and are functioning across the state. He said the government has strengthened law and order, leading to a significant reduction in crime.
Accelerated Development in Jhalawar:
Shri Sharma said that in the last two years, over 52,000 development works worth approximately ₹1,900 crore have been completed to boost development in Jhalawar. Nearly ₹2,500 crore has been transferred via DBT to beneficiaries under various schemes. Key development works include approval of ₹1,900 crore for the construction of the dam and tunnel under the Parvan Multipurpose Irrigation Project and works under the Manoharthana Irrigation Project. He noted that development works are progressing across sectors such as roads, electricity, infrastructure, health, and education in Dug constituency as well.
CM is Leading the State to New Heights – Vasundhara Raje:
Former Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje said that the popular Chief Minister Shri Sharma is sincerely working to lead the state to new heights. Rajasthan is progressing rapidly toward becoming a developed state. She said women’s empowerment gained momentum with the implementation of various schemes. Distribution of scooters to girls, PM Kisan and CM Kisan Samman Nidhi of ₹9,000 annually, and strict action against paper leaks have benefited the people. She noted that Jhalawar has also received several development gifts. MP Shri Dushyant Singh highlighted the government’s significant achievements.
₹187.59 Crore Transferred to 78 Lakh Women Beneficiaries:
Under the Chief Minister Kitchen Gas Subsidy Scheme, ₹187.59 crore was transferred to the accounts of 78 lakh women beneficiaries across the state. Under the Lado Protsahan Yojana, the first instalment of ₹2,500 each was transferred to the accounts of 18,000 beneficiaries. The CM also distributed loan cheques worth ₹18.13 crore to two self-help groups under Rajeevika.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 43 projects worth ₹259.60 crore and inaugurated 6 works worth ₹115.74 crore under the Public Works Department. Earlier, he inaugurated a women-managed cowshed, biogas plant, and Miyawaki garden in Dudhalia village. He also inspected the Govardhan Gas Plant and visited exhibitions organised by the Information & Public Relations Department and other departments. Scooters were distributed to five specially-abled individuals and bicycles to ten schoolgirls at the venue.
Panchayati Raj State Minister and District In-charge Minister Shri Otararam Devasi, MLA Shri Govind Prasad, other public representatives, and a large number of women were present.
