Lucknow, January 2026 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while reviewing the functioning of the Revenue Department on Friday, issued several important directions to departmental officials. He stated that all revenue-related cases in the state—whether related to land measurement, mutation, inheritance or population records—must be resolved strictly on merit. He directed that accountability be fixed in all pending cases and their disposal be ensured within a prescribed time frame.

The Chief Minister instructed that a rover-based land measurement system be implemented at the earliest in all districts of the state. He emphasized that along with procurement of rovers, proper training and a clear operational framework must be put in place to ensure effective implementation.

The Chief Minister directed that a system be developed to enable automatic disposal of mutation and inheritance cases, stating that this would ensure timely and hassle-free justice for citizens. He also emphasized making the consolidation process more transparent and accelerating efforts to implement map-based and rover-based land measurement systems. For training purposes, he suggested taking support from engineering colleges, polytechnics and ITIs.

The Chief Minister instructed the Revenue Department to accelerate the pace of work and focus on completing all tasks within stipulated timelines. He directed that digitization of land records be expedited and completed at the earliest to strengthen departmental monitoring and benefit the general public. He also called for simplification and transparency in land-use change procedures under Section 80 and suggested developing a call center–like system at the level of the Revenue Council for grievance redressal.

Emphasizing the use of technology in the consolidation process, the Chief Minister directed that all pending cases related to farmer registry, land measurement and khasra verification be resolved mandatorily within the prescribed time limit. He also instructed that government services such as income, caste and residence certificates be made more efficient, transparent and time-bound.

In view of the prevailing cold wave, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure proper management of facilities at night shelters, arrange bonfires at public places and expedite blanket distribution for the needy.

The Chief Minister also instructed that boundary walls be constructed, in coordination with the Social Welfare Department, to ensure the safety of statues and memorials of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar installed in gram panchayats.

Additionally, he directed lekhpals to establish their offices in panchayat secretariats and resolve public grievances locally. He also emphasized the need for construction of integrated multi-storey office complexes at the district level, housing the District Magistrate and all district-level offices under one roof.
