Amit Shah Highlights Transparent Recruitment, New Laws at Rajasthan Constable Appointment Ceremony
Jaipur, January 2026: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah said that transparent recruitment of public servants is essential for a state’s progress. Addressing the Constable Appointment Ceremony at RPA, he praised the Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma for ending the previous government’s paper leak scandals, ensuring that youth in the state receive jobs without recommendations or expenditure.
Shri Shah emphasized that a well-maintained law and order system is the foundation of development. By eliminating paper leaks and strengthening law enforcement, Rajasthan has also become a leading destination for investors nationwide.
Rajasthan Cyber Crime Co-ordination Centre to be set up
Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma announced the establishment of the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Co-ordination Centre (R4C), modeled on the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C), to effectively tackle cybercrime. R4C will serve as a center of excellence, facilitating coordination, information sharing, research, and capacity building across districts.
Rajasthan Police Among India’s Leading Forces
Shri Shah congratulated the newly appointed constables, noting the inclusion of over 2,500 women. He urged them to focus on their training and later serve the public diligently, contributing to a safer Rajasthan. He highlighted the challenges posed by the state’s geography, including over 1,000 km of international border with Pakistan, the Chambal ravines, the Thar Desert, and major tourist sites like Ajmer, Pushkar, Udaipur, and Ranthambore, stressing that effective governance and transparency make a tangible difference.
Modernization and Crime Reduction
Shri Shah outlined major initiatives in the past two years, including the Anti-Gangster Task Force, integration of Abhay Command Center, 112, CCTNS, and ICJS, Kalika Patrolling Units, and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force. He also noted the establishment of the R4C to counter cybercrime.
He added that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, three new laws have replaced colonial-era regulations, safeguarding life, property, and dignity. These laws integrate technology, connecting all five pillars of the criminal justice system—police, prosecution, jail, FSL, and courts—online. New provisions also focus on women and child protection, terrorism, and organized crime, ensuring faster justice. With these laws, FIRs will reach the Supreme Court within three years, and Rajasthan Police’s conviction rate has already risen from 41% to 60%, with expectations to reach 85%.
Chief Minister’s Remarks
Shri Bhajanlal Sharma described this period as an unprecedented phase in independent India, with strong leadership from Prime Minister Shri Modi and Home Minister Shri Shah. He highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 and the integration of Jammu & Kashmir as examples of strengthening national unity. He also praised the Home Minister’s efforts in eliminating Naxalism and reforming the justice system, including extending citizenship to persecuted minorities under the CAA and bringing peace to Northeast India.
Guidance to Newly Appointed Constables
The Chief Minister congratulated the constables, urging them to understand the new laws, remain vigilant, capable, and proactive against challenges ranging from cybercrime to organized crime. Training has been modernized to include AI and advanced forensic techniques.
Strengthening Law Enforcement
Significant initiatives in the past two years include 65 Anti-Romeo Squads, 500 Kalika Patrolling Units, installation of 9,400 CCTV cameras, SIT investigations against exam irregularities, Operation Cyber Shield, and cyber help desks in all police stations.
Police Commissioner’s Remarks
Director General of Police Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma stated that constables are the backbone of the criminal justice system, and the recruitment of over 8,000 constables will further strengthen law enforcement.
Shri Shah symbolically handed appointment letters to 10 constables at the ceremony, while over 8,000 letters were distributed in total. He also virtually inaugurated the Multipurpose Indoor Hall at Rajasthan Police Academy, Jaipur, under the Khelo India scheme.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa, Home Minister of State Shri Jawahar Singh Bedham, MP Shri Madan Rathore, Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas, police officials, newly appointed constables, and their families.
