CM Shri Bhupendra Patel Hoists and Salutes the National Flag in the Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Nadiad

Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel appealed to the people of Gujarat to support the vision of Viksit Bharat by achieving the goals of Viksit Gujarat through the Seven Resolutions of Good Governance, inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. During the 78th Independence Day celebration in Nadiad, the birthplace of Sardar Patel, the Chief Minister hoisted the national flag and emphasized the seven resolutions of good governance: accessibility, simplicity, communication, dedication, participation, empowerment, and security. The CM highlighted that just as Gujarat played a pivotal role under Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel during the freedom struggle, it will now set an example under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership through these resolutions.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel made two major announcements regarding good governance. He announced a budget allocation of ₹5,017 crore for expanding and strengthening the state’s road infrastructure. Additionally, he announced an increase in the income limit for needy NFSA families under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, raising it from ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 per month to include more beneficiaries across the state. Emphasizing the “Seven Resolutions of Good Governance” as a foundation for contributing to Viksit Bharat through Viksit Gujarat, the Chief Minister highlighted the need to create a ‘frictionless’ governance system. This approach aims to ensure that everyone can easily access public welfare schemes, in line with the resolutions of accessibility and simplicity.

Under the third resolution of good governance, focused efforts will be made to enable citizens to effectively and seamlessly communicate their concerns to the government through modern communication channels. The government will proactively address and resolve these issues. To support this, platforms such as Digital Gujarat, SWAGAT Online, CM Dashboard, WhatsApp Bot, and Right to CM will be upgraded with advanced technology, thereby improving the interaction between the public and the administration, the Chief Minister added. The CM affirmed the government’s dedication to serving its citizens with a steadfast commitment to the “Nation First” ethos, aiming to enhance every Gujarati’s sense of responsibility towards the country. He also urged for greater public involvement in the development process, under the vision of ‘Maru Gujarat, Sarv Shrestha Gujarat’. Highlighting the empowerment of marginalized communities, including tribals, women, and the poor, as the sixth resolution of good governance, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of inclusive development.

Regarding the governance resolution on security, he noted that security, safety, and peace are fundamental to development. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the government has enhanced law and order by updating outdated laws and introducing three new laws to ensure the safety of the people. The implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sahita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sahita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Vidheyak has established a unified legal code across the country. These new laws will expedite judicial processes and enable appropriate measures to be taken for public safety. The Chief Minister stated that while Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel secured independence for the nation, Sons of the Soil and Gujarat’s prominent figures, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, have transformed this journey into one of good governance. Through their commitment to good governance, they are now focused on building Viksit Bharat, with Gujarat contributing by becoming Viksit Gujarat.

The state government has developed a vision document for Viksit Gujarat @2047, focusing on the two pillars of ‘Earning Well’ and ‘Living Well.’ The Chief Minister highlighted that Gujarat and its people have always been leaders in trade and commerce. The government is committed to advancing agriculture, industry, services, and the economic progress of all citizens. Through initiatives like Vibrant Gujarat and a policy-driven approach, the state’s economic foundation has been solidified. Under the ‘Earning Well’ pillar, several successful schemes have been implemented. Following the success of the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Gujarat is positioning itself as a ‘Global Destination for Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing,’ with investments in this sector exceeding ₹1 lakh crore. Besides, the first semiconductor chip in India is set to be manufactured in Gujarat.

The state will also play a significant role in green growth, particularly in the renewable energy sector. The Chief Minister added that Gujarat is a leading state in the renewable energy sector. The state is committed to the rapid completion of the world’s largest 37 GW Solar-Wind Hybrid Energy Park in Kutch. Under PM Suryaghar Muft Bijili Yojana, Gujarat is leading the nation in the implementation of solar rooftop systems in residential homes. Clarifying the concept of ‘Living Well,’ Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel emphasized that improving the standard of living and enhancing the ease of living for citizens are central goals, focusing on the four pillars of society: the poor, youth, farmers, and women. Under the PM Awas Yojana, over 5.56 lakh houses have been constructed and provided to the poor. The Chief Minister also mentioned that to ensure no one goes hungry, the Prime Minister has extended the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana by five more years, benefiting millions of people in Gujarat. The Chief Minister highlighted that under the Annapurna Yojana, provisions have been made for meals and shelter for workers, ensuring both sustenance and a place to stay.

He emphasized the transformative impact of the ₹1 lakh crore Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana, initiated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, aimed at the comprehensive welfare of tribal communities. Building on the success of this initiative, Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana – 2 has been launched for the period 2021 to 2026, with a provision of ₹1 lakh crore. For the youth of the state, the Chief Minister outlined several key initiatives, including skill development programs, the promotion of the startup ecosystem, encouragement for natural farming, benefits provided to 45 lakh farmers under Kisan Samman Nidhi, and the advantage of micro-irrigation schemes for 15 lakh farmers.  Additionally, the Sujalam Sufalam Jal Sanchay Abhiyan has enhanced the state’s water storage capacity by 1123 lakh cubic feet. The Ayushman Card initiative, along with the inclusion of 3.13 lakh women in Sakhi Mandals, were also highlighted as part of the state’s development agenda.

The Chief Minister, remembering the freedom fighters, extended his best wishes to everyone on the occasion of Independence Day. He reiterated the firm resolve to build Viksit Gujarat by 2047, aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat under the guidance of the Prime Minister. This goal will be achieved through the unwavering efforts of Team Gujarat and the cooperation of every citizen, guided by the seven resolutions of good governance. Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar and Director General of Police Shri Vikas Sahay escorted the Chief Minister to the podium. As the Air Force helicopters showered flower petals from the sky onto the national flag, the Chief Minister greeted the citizens from an open jeep. The district administration and the police department also presented a vibrant cultural program during the event. In response to the Prime Minister’s call for the ‘EK Ped Maa ke Naam’ initiative, the Chief Minister inaugurated ‘Karmayogi Van’, a forest of 4,000 trees, created by the dedicated efforts of the Kheda district administration officers and employees.
