Kabir Panth Has Deep Influence on the Lives of People in Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Sai

Raipur, February 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving towards becoming a developed state. He stated that the state has to be taken much further and established as a fully developed region. On this occasion, he announced an increase in the financial assistance for the Sant Samagam Ceremony at Damakheda from ₹50 lakh to ₹75 lakh.

The Chief Minister was speaking on Sunday after attending the Satguru Kabir Sant Samagam Ceremony held at Kabir Dharmnagar, Damakheda, on the occasion of Magh Purnima. During the event, he offered a ceremonial cloth and coconut to Panth Shri Udit Muni Naam Saheb and Panth Shri Prakash Muni Naam Saheb, seeking their blessings and praying for the prosperity of the state. Extending his greetings on Magh Purnima, Shri Sai said that the Sant Samagam at Kabir Dharmnagar, Damakheda, is becoming more grand every year, reflecting the growing faith of the people.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Kabir Panth has a profound influence on the social life of Chhattisgarh, which is why the people of the state are peace-loving. He shared that he has been familiar with the Kabir Panth since childhood and that there are 8–10 Kabir Panthi families in his native village, Bagiya. He informed that the final process for the official gazette notification to rename Damakheda as Kabir Dharmnagar is currently underway.

Highlighting the benefits of the “double-engine” government, the Chief Minister said that people are directly benefitting from coordinated governance at the Centre and the State. He further stated that Naxalism, which has long been a major obstacle to Chhattisgarh’s development, is now nearing its complete eradication and will be eliminated from the state by March 31, 2026. He emphasized that the government is rapidly fulfilling the promises made to the people.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that the Chadar Tilak ceremony of Panth Shri Udit Muni Naam Saheb was extraordinary and divine. He noted that Panth Shri has been actively working in the fields of tree plantation, social service, de-addiction, and youth upliftment. Shri Sharma added that Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is always concerned about the development works of Kabir Ashram and consistently issues directions for their early completion. The programme was also addressed by Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel and Bhatapara MLA Shri Indra Sao.

During the ceremony, Panth Shri Prakash Muni Naam Saheb warmly welcomed Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai on behalf of the Kabir Panthi community. He said that on the first day of the Magh fair, coinciding with Basant Panchami, the Chadar Tilak ceremony of Panth Shri Udit Muni Naam Saheb as the new spiritual head and 16th successor of the Kabir Panth lineage was solemnly performed. He also informed that Kabir Panthi saints from various states of the country as well as from abroad participated in the Sant Samagam this year, with full support from the government and administration.

The event was attended by Panth Shri Udit Muni Naam Saheb, Gurugosai Bhanupratap Saheb, MLA Smt. Bhavna Bohra, Shri Ishwar Sahu, former MP Shri Abhishek Singh, former MLA Shivratna Sharma, representatives of the lineage council of Satguru Kabir Dharmdas Saheb, officials, staff, and a large number of followers of the Kabir Panth.
