Youth Power Sends Message “Nagpurkars, Go Vote” through ‘Votethon’Commit to Voting and Inspire Others – Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal

Nagpur : The enthusiasm shown by Nagpurkars who participated in the Votethon Run under SVEEP has turned into a determination to inspire neighbors to vote. Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal urged the youth to step forward and instill this commitment to voting in each voter. He said, “We have taken the oath to vote here; now, let us inspire others to do the same.”

He was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of the Votethon Rally held at Yashwant Stadium under SVEEP to raise voter awareness. Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, District Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Vipin Itankar, Municipal Additional Commissioner Anchal Goyal, Nagpur Election Observers Bhor Singh, Sunil Kumar, Pawan Kumar Sinha, District Council Chief Executive Officer Vinayak Mahamuni, Additional Commissioner Ajay Charthankar, and other dignitaries were present.

Voting is a national duty for every voter, and each must perform this duty. Reaching at least a 75% voter turnout is the responsibility of every citizen, stated District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar. He advised citizens to note their polling stations when visited by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

Youth amplified their enthusiasm through Votethon, which should be put into action by voting. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari urged citizens to come forward and contribute as ambassadors of democracy. At the start of “Votethon,” District Council CEO Vinayak Mahamuni led everyone in a voting pledge, with attendees vowing to vote in unison.

SVEEP Icon and Para-athlete Suvarna Raj praised the Election Commission’s arrangements for disabled and elderly voters. Observer Sunil Kumar anticipated Nagpur’s record-breaking turnout, while Observer Pawan Kumar Sinha urged citizens to keep the Votethon enthusiasm alive through Election Day, delivering the message, “Nagpurkars, Go Vote!”

The Votethon saw active participation from voters, student police, women cadets, and public and private sector employees. Senior athletes and children joined, emphasizing voting’s importance.

The Senior Citizens’ Association urged Nagpur’s citizens to vote, while yoga athletes from Amit Sports Academy performed a captivating demonstration promoting voting. V.J. Amol organized small fun games, with winners awarded by dignitaries.

All winners were awarded by dignitaries. Present were Municipal Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ranjana Lade, Zilla Parishad Deputy Chief Executive Kapil Kalode, Deputy Chief Executive Dr. Kailas Ghodke, Social Welfare Assistant Commissioner Smt. Sukeshini Telgote, District Sports Officer Smt. Pallavi Dhatrak, Municipal Deputy Commissioner Shmilind Meshram, Prakash Varade, Ganesh Rathod, Shvijay Deshmukh, Dr. Gajendra Mahalle, Education Officer Smt. Sadhana Sayam, Medical Health Officer Dr. Deepak Selokar, and Sports Officer Dr. Piyush Ambulkar, alongside officers and staff from the Municipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad, and District Collectorate.
