Lecture Session and Quiz Competition on “Indian Constitution: The Soul of India”

Jaipur : Under the joint aegis of the Directorate of Peace and Non-Violence and Biyani Law College, a grand lecture session and quiz competition on the theme “Indian Constitution: The Soul of India” was organized on Thursday as part of the celebrations marking the 75th year of the Constitution’s adoption under the Constitution Amrit Mahotsav series.

The program began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa.

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa expressed his thoughts on the significance of the Constitution, stating that it ensures ideals such as justice, equality, and fraternity. He emphasized citizens’ duties alongside their rights and remarked that every citizen must adhere to the values enshrined in the Constitution. He further said that the Constitution inspires us to follow the path of equality, fraternity, and mutual harmony, which forms the foundation of a strong and prosperous nation.

MP Smt. Manju Sharma began her address with slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” She highlighted the contributions of women in the drafting of the Constitution and noted that the Constitution grants every individual the right to freely express their ideas in society. She also mentioned that many people lack adequate knowledge about their constitutional rights and fail to respect them. She called for increased awareness about cleanliness and encouraged tree plantation.

Secretary of the Department of Peace and Non-Violence, Shri V. Saravan Kumar, emphasized the need to read and understand the Constitution. He remarked that the Constitution not only informs us about our rights and duties but also paves the way for social harmony and development.

Director of the Directorate of Peace and Non-Violence, Shri Ajay Aswal, shed light on the deep connection between the Constitution and Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals. He noted that Gandhi’s principles inspired the creation of a Constitution rooted in the values of peace and non-violence.

Director of Biyani Group of Colleges, Dr. Sanjay Biyani, also highlighted Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals, stating that peace and non-violence are fundamental values of life.

During the event, a lecture session and quiz competition were organized with enthusiastic participation from students. The quiz, conducted by the Directorate of Peace and Non-Violence, aimed to raise awareness among students about constitutional provisions. In cases where two teams scored equal points, a tie-breaker was used to determine the winner.

Students securing first, second, and third positions were rewarded and honored with certificates by the department.
