West Bengal devotees chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ as Mahakumbh resonates with ‘Har Har Gange’
2,000 devotees from Asansol congregate in Mahakumbh Nagar
Mahakumbh Nagar : As Mahakumbh unfolds, the sands of Sangam witness an overwhelming surge of faith. On the one hand, history is being made with over 60 crore devotees taking a holy dip in the sacred Triveni; on the other, chants of Jai Shri Ram* reverberate across Mahakumbh Nagar as two thousand devotees from West Bengal join the spiritual fervour. Echoing with Har Har Gange and Bam Bam Bhole, the sacred grounds have become a testament to unwavering devotion.
Contrary to recent remarks by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Maha Kumbh, devotees from her state displayed immense enthusiasm for the Triveni Snan. On Sunday, a massive contingent of 2,000 devotees from Asansol arrived in 40 buses, eager to immerse themselves in the holy confluence. They participated in the sacred ritual alongside revered saints, culminating in a collective chanting of Lord Ram’s name.
Swami Dilip Das Tyagi, a prominent saint from Ayodhya and president of Raghuvansh Sankalp Seva, shared that this devoted group had traveled from West Bengal to be part of the grand event.
Krishna Prasad, president of the organizing committee, emphasized the profound significance of this pilgrimage, stating that preparations had been underway for months. “The Maha Kumbh is the world’s largest cultural gathering, and we were all eager to witness its magnificence,” he added.
No other Chief Minister in the country has orchestrated a Mahakumbh of such scale and success as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Inspired by his efforts, many devotees from West Bengal flocked to Prayagraj to witness the world’s largest spiritual gathering firsthand. Special yagyas and havans were conducted during their visit, drawing participation from devotees across various states, including West Bengal.
West Bengal devotees also offered prayers to Maa Ganga for their ancestors. Despite West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s recent remarks about the Mahakumbh, the enthusiasm among the people of her state for this sacred event remained unwavering. Devotees expressed their deep spiritual commitment, saying, “When 60 crore people are coming to Prayagraj for the holy dip, why should we stay behind?”
