Autism Vocational Centre Hosts 3rd Annual Day Celebration on World Autism Awareness Day
On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, celebrated on April 2nd, the Autism Vocational and Special Education Centre (AVSEC), Vikrampuri, proudly hosted its 3rd Annual Day celebrations at the Shakti Auditorium, AOC Centre, Secunderabad. The event was graced by the esteemed First Lady of AOC Centre, Mrs. Simi Singh, who presided as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Diana Monterio (Counselling Psychologist), Dr. Ramesh Konanki (Rainbow Children’s Hospital), and Brig (Retd) Ishwar Chandra.

The celebrations served as a powerful testament to the Centre’s unwavering commitment to empowering individuals with autism, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents, skills, and achievements. The event featured a vibrant array of performances, including yoga, music, dance, and a theatrical skit, which mesmerized the audience and highlighted the unique abilities of the students.
A Celebration of Talent and Inclusivity

The event commenced with an inspiring speech by Gowrisha, who eloquently spoke about the institution, its teachers, and the impact of AVSEC in nurturing children on the autism spectrum. Following this, the audience was treated to a series of spectacular performances. The Junior Wing students captivated everyone with a beautifully choreographed dance, while Abhi Chandra impressed with a soulful piano performance. Archana’s solo dance performance and the folk dance by Anchal Sujith and Vedanth added cultural vibrancy to the event.
One of the most anticipated segments of the program was the theatrical skit performance by the Senior Wing students—Sidharth, Aatman, Guruvardhan, Arthi, Shantan, Chris, Sujith, Abhishek, Gowrisha, Vamshi, Harshith, Vedanth, Abhi Chandra, Aanchal, and Phalguni. Their skit, themed “One India”, beautifully depicted the essence of unity in diversity and emphasized inclusivity and acceptance, leaving the audience deeply moved.

The celebration also included a powerful message from Dr. Diana Monterio and Dr. Ramesh Konanki, who emphasized the importance of motivating children and adults on the autism spectrum. They highlighted the necessity of celebrating even the smallest achievements and reinforcing a society that is inclusive, supportive, and accepting of individuals with autism.
Honouring Hard Work and Commitment
As the event drew to a close, the students were awarded medals and prizes, recognizing their dedication, hard work, and accomplishments. The joy on their faces reflected the significance of the moment, as parents and well-wishers cheered them on.
