“Good Governance Means Reaching Every Beneficiary with Transparency and Accountability,” Says CM
CM Vishnu Deo Sai Reviews Ground-Level Implementation of Welfare Schemes in Sakti District
Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited Karigaon village in Sakti district today as part of the Sushasan Tihar 2025 celebrations, where he personally assessed the on-ground impact of government schemes. Seated under a peepal tree, the CM held a traditional village chaupal (public meeting) on a cot, interacting directly with a large gathering of villagers who shared their concerns, feedback, and experiences regarding the implementation of various schemes.
He emphasized that the aim of his government is not merely to design schemes but to ensure their effective execution so that every eligible citizen benefits. “The essence of good governance lies in public engagement and direct communication with the people,” CM Sai said, adding that the chaupal was a step in that direction.
CM Visits Beneficiary’s Home Under PM Awas Yojana
Following the chaupal, CM Sai visited the under-construction house of Smt. Sonai Bai, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). He inspected the construction quality and inquired about the benefits received. He also asked if she was receiving financial assistance under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, to which she confirmed timely payments that were helping her family financially.
He noted that the household was also receiving tap water under the Jal Jeevan Mission. “Now that water is reaching your doorstep, it’s a significant milestone in delivering basic amenities to our villages,” he remarked.
CM Appeals for Survey Participation Under Awas Yojana
During the interaction, villagers raised demands for new housing under the PM Awas Yojana. In response, CM Sai reassured them of the state government’s commitment to “housing for all” and urged all those left out to register during the ongoing survey, which continues until May 15, 2025. He assured that all eligible individuals would be prioritized for housing, stating, “This is not just a scheme to provide a roof over one’s head, but a step toward dignity and security.”
“Governance Must Be Grounded in People’s Realities”
CM Sai reiterated that good governance is not merely an administrative process but a system rooted in citizen participation, transparency, and accountability. “By engaging with beneficiaries directly, inspecting work ourselves, and asking if funds have been received—we ensure that our schemes move beyond files and actually reach the people,” he said.
The visit underscored the CM’s commitment to monitoring the delivery of flagship schemes like PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Mahtari Vandan Yojana, which are bringing real, positive change to rural lives across Chhattisgarh.
