New Delhi : Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah praised the Border Security Force (BSF) for their unwavering courage and service during a special address to BSF personnel in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. The event was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, the Union Home Secretary, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, the Director General of BSF, and other senior officials.

In his speech, Amit Shah conveyed the gratitude of 140 crore Indians to the BSF personnel guarding the nation’s borders. “Whenever there is a threat to India’s borders, BSF soldiers are the first to respond,” he said. He commended the BSF for remaining alert and dedicated 24/7, 365 days a year. “No enemy can breach our borders because the first line of defence is the strong chest of a BSF jawan,” Shah added.

Referring to the BSF as the first line of defence, Shah said every child in India recognizes the bravery and commitment of BSF soldiers. Highlighting the success of Operation Sindoor, he said BSF personnel stationed at the Jammu, Rajasthan, and remote Kutch frontiers displayed exceptional vigilance and strength.

Shah revealed that during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan retaliated to Indian Army strikes by attacking civilian areas. In response, BSF forces destroyed or severely damaged over 118 Pakistani posts along the Jammu frontier. The Home Minister added that the BSF also dismantled Pakistan’s surveillance infrastructure, dealing a heavy blow to their intelligence-gathering capabilities.

He further noted that even during peacetime, the BSF continuously monitors enemy movements and positions. With accurate intelligence and swift action, the BSF inflicted maximum damage on Pakistani positions in record time during the operation.

Amit Shah attributed the BSF’s heroic performance to their deep sense of patriotism, pride in the nation, and readiness for sacrifice. He said that such acts of bravery and sacrifice have earned the admiration of every Indian, and the valor of the BSF is now remembered and respected across the country.

The Home Minister concluded by saluting the dedication and selfless service of the BSF, calling them true protectors of the nation.
