Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel flags off the S.T. buses from Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel is steering efforts to modernise buses, adopt advanced technology, and upgrade infrastructure for safe and efficient transportation across Gujarat. He flagged off 151 new Super Express buses to strengthen services statewide. In the presence of Minister of State for Transport, Shri Harsh Sanghavi, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) inaugurated these new buses in Gandhinagar.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has always viewed public transport and road infrastructure as essential foundations for development. In line with this vision, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has been continuously advancing towards providing convenient and comfortable travel experiences to every individual, including those in the remotest areas, by launching 151 more S.T. buses today.

In this year’s budget, the state government has approved the purchase of a total of 1,963 new buses and has also planned to operate 100 modern AC buses under the PPP model, thus provisioning a total of 2,063 buses for public service. Of these, 151 Super Express buses, at a cost of ₹52.63 crore, have been dedicated to public service. These buses will be allocated across all districts of the state to provide citizens with more comfortable, safe, and faster travel facilities.

It is noteworthy that Gujarat S.T. Corporation operates over 8,000 buses daily, covering 33 lakh kilometers and transporting more than 27 lakh passengers to their destinations. By operating additional buses during festivals and special occasions, the Corporation has continuously remained a vital connector for society through its uninterrupted services.

The event was attended by Gandhinagar Mayor Smt. Meera Patel, District Panchayat President Smt. Shilpa Patel, Gandhinagar MLAs Smt. Ritaben Patel and Alpesh Thakor, Mansa MLA Shri Jayanti Patel, Gandhinagar City President Dr. Ashish Dave, Transport Principal Secretary Shri R.C. Meena, S.T. Corporation MD Shri M. Nagarajan, senior officials, and citizens.
