Revenue Infrastructure Boost: CM Stalin Inaugurates New Office Buildings Worth ₹270.4 Crores
Chennai – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin today inaugurated a series of newly constructed government buildings under the Revenue and Registration Departments, amounting to a total investment of ₹270.4 crores.
Among the newly inaugurated facilities are:
- 2 State-Level Revenue Offices constructed at a cost of ₹4.35 crores.
- 12 Sub-Registrar Offices built under the Registration Department at a cost of ₹22.69 crores.
- 2 new Sub-Registrar Offices at Nallur and Kelambakkam in the Chengalpattu Registration Zone.
At the event held at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the Revenue and Registration Departments in supporting the state’s economy and public services. The Revenue Department plays a key role by contributing two-thirds of the state’s revenue, ensuring efficiency in land-related operations, tax collection, and enforcement.
The Registration Department plays a vital role for the public by registering property rights, marriages, wills, and partnership firms, offering legal security and documentation services.

State-Level Revenue Offices
- Tiruppur District (Dharapuram): ₹1.82 crores
- Tirunelveli District (Sankarankovil): ₹2.53 crores
12 Sub-Registrar Office Buildings
Constructed in:
- Ramanathapuram District: Sembarankoil and Kamuthi
- Thoothukudi District: Vilathikulam, Kayathar, Kazhugumalai, Alwarthirunagari
- Tirunelveli District: South Veeranallur, Mukkudal
- Dharmapuri District: Pennagaram
- Cuddalore District: Bhuvanagiri, Kumaratchi
- Tenkasi District: Sivagiri
Total construction cost: ₹22.69 crores
These new buildings were approved under the state’s budget allocation for Revenue and Registration department modernization.
New Sub-Registrar Offices in Chengalpattu
Under the 2024–25 budget allocation for the Registration Department:
- Nallur SRO was created by separating 9 villages from the existing Thiruporur SRO.
- Kelambakkam SRO was formed by splitting 13 villages.
The new sub-registrar offices are expected to provide improved, faster access to registration services for residents in their respective areas.
