CM Bhajanlal Sharma Lays Foundation of Isarda-Dausa Drinking Water Project in Lalsot
Project to Provide Clean Drinking Water to Over 6.27 Lakh People; Over ₹120 Crore Sanctioned for Additional Development Works in Lalsot Assembly
Jaipur, Aug 2025:Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma affirmed the state government’s commitment to improving the lives of every citizen by ensuring the reach of essential services to every village and hamlet. He stated that the government is working with the vision of building a strong and prosperous Rajasthan.
Speaking at the foundation laying and thanksgiving ceremony of the Isarda-Dausa Drinking Water Project held in Dungarpur village of Lalsot Assembly constituency, CM Sharma inaugurated the project by pressing a remote button. He expressed gratitude for the abundant rainfall filling reservoirs across the state, including the Isarda Dam, which will significantly benefit the water supply schemes.
The Isarda-Dausa Drinking Water Project will see an investment of approximately ₹350 crore in Lalsot, involving the construction of 8 clean water reservoirs, 5 pumping houses, and 47 elevated storage tanks. Additionally, 280 km of rising main pipelines, over 200 km of main pipelines, and 1,360 km of VDS pipelines will be laid. Upon completion by 2027, the project will provide clean drinking water to 302 villages with a population of 5.58 lakh, and approximately 69,000 residents of Lalsot town.
The CM also announced the approval of additional development works worth over ₹120 crore for the Lalsot Assembly constituency.
Major Progress in Water and Power Sectors in Just 1.5 Years
CM Sharma highlighted that within the last 18 months, the state government has taken concrete steps in water, power, infrastructure, and economic development. Efforts like the Ram Jal Setu Link Project, Yamuna Water Agreement, and Mahi Dam Plan aim to provide long-term solutions to water and irrigation issues. He mentioned that ₹8,496 crore has been spent to extend irrigation facilities to 82,964 hectares. By 2027, farmers will also be provided daytime electricity supply.
Transparent Recruitment and Employment Initiatives
The CM reiterated the government’s resolve to create 4 lakh government jobs in five years, alongside providing skill training to over 3 lakh youth. In the past 18 months, six employment fairs were held, resulting in over 75,000 youths receiving appointment letters, and advertisements have been issued for more than 1 lakh vacancies. He emphasized that all recruitments are being conducted transparently, with not a single paper leak occurring under his tenure.
Our 1.5 Years Outshine the Previous Government’s 5-Year Term
CM Sharma took a swipe at the previous government, stating that the development accomplished in the past 1.5 years surpasses what the former administration achieved in five years. While the prior government constructed 29,000 farm ponds in five years, the current government has already built over 32,000 farm ponds in 18 months. Similarly, power generation capacity increased by 4,800 MW during his tenure, compared to 3,900 MW in the previous five years.
His government has connected 1,421 villages with roads, whereas the previous administration connected only 1,100 villages. In the past 18 months, 89,000 students received tablets, contrasting with only 986 distributed in the prior five years. Regarding property ownership (Swamitva) cards, the current government has distributed 9.75 lakh cards, compared to 1.75 lakh distributed previously.
He also mentioned the positive impact of the Vande Ganga Jal Conservation Public Campaign, aiming to plant 50 crore saplings over five years, with 10 crore saplings targeted for this year alone.
₹116 Crore Budget Allocated for Lalsot Assembly
The CM announced a ₹116 crore budget allocation for development works in Lalsot Assembly, ensuring their swift execution. Orders have been issued for the widening and upgrading of SH-24 to NH-11AE via Nangal Mod, Devli Road-Lalsot Bypass. Roadworks are also underway from Dungarpur Mod to Dob via Haripura and from Lalsot to Khatwa. Furthermore, Lalsot Municipality has been upgraded to a Municipal Council, Shyampura PHC has been upgraded to a Community Health Center, and Lalsot Girls’ College is being elevated to a Postgraduate Institution.
Ministers and Public Representatives Commend the Initiatives
Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena lauded the double-engine government’s efforts to uplift farmers through high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. He assured compensation for flood-affected individuals and thanked the CM for providing Isarda Dam water to the Dausa region.
Water Resources Minister Kanhaialal highlighted the corruption during the previous government’s tenure under the Jal Jeevan Mission, contrasting it with the current government’s commitment to quality and timely project completion.
On this occasion, CM Sharma also planted a Sindoor (Vermilion) plant as a symbolic gesture. The event saw the participation of Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham, MLAs Ramvilas Meena, Bhagchand Tankra, Rajendra Meena, Mahendra Pal Meena, Ramavatar Bairwa, Ramsahay Verma, and other public representatives, senior officials, and a large number of citizens.
