Universal Thoughts from the Dnyaneshwari as a Guide to the World – Chief Minister

Golden Kalash Worship by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the Occasion of the 750th Birth Anniversary of Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj

Pune, Aug 2025 – Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, through the Pasaydan, expressed the wish for the well-being of the entire world. This universal vision from the Dnyaneshwari is the essence of Indian culture and serves as a guide for the world, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He was speaking at the Golden Kalash installation ceremony held at the Samadhi Temple of Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, organized on the occasion of the saint’s 750th birth anniversary. Present on the occasion were Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Rural Development Minister Jaykumar Gore, Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Principal District & Sessions Judge Mahendra Mahajan, H.B.P. Maruti Maharaj Kurekar, H.B.P. Narayan Maharaj Jadhav, MP Shrirang Barne, MLAs Uma Khapre, Bapusaheb Pathare, Mahesh Landge, Babaji Kale, Devendra Pote, and others.

CM Fadnavis said that the credit for preserving the ancient values of our culture goes to the Warkari tradition. Even during foreign invasions, when political subjugation was accepted, we never accepted intellectual slavery. Saints and the Warkari tradition united society beyond caste and religious divisions. Through the Dnyaneshwari, Mauli gave the same message. In just 21 years of life, he presented thoughts that have guided us for centuries. Visiting the Samadhi Temple inspires one to do good deeds, he added. He also said that the world has recognized Indian civilization, with its pure flow of thought and philosophy, as the oldest in existence.

Extending greetings on Krishna Janmashtami, CM Fadnavis remarked that just as Lord Yogeshwar Krishna revealed the Gita to guide Arjuna on the path of karma, today’s installation of the Golden Kalash atop Sant Dnyaneshwar Mauli’s Samadhi Temple is a golden opportunity. The Kalash was offered not through charity but through dedication by devotees. Alongside, the restoration of the Mahadwar built by Mahadji Shinde will restore its original form and enhance the sanctity of the temple complex.

The philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita is the highest in the world and is being embraced globally. The wisdom expressed by Mauli in 9,000 verses will now be available in all languages through an audiobook, enabling it to reach across the world, he expressed with confidence.

Bring the Thoughts of the Dnyaneshwari to the New Generation Through Short Audio Clips – Eknath Shinde

Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said that devotees pass through the Mahadwar chanting Mauli’s name, a great tradition of the Warkaris. Installing the Golden Kalash on the Samadhi Temple is a significant event, and all present were fortunate to witness it, thanks to the contributions of devotees. For Warkaris, Dnyanoba is their very breath, and Alandi is their Kashi. Known as Alankapuri, Alandi holds an important place for Marathi culture and the Bhagavata Dharma. Today, through the new website, the tradition of spreading the Bhagavata Dharma has been furthered with the launch of the Dnyaneshwari audiobook initiative. He urged that two- to three-minute audio clips of the Dnyaneshwari verses be created to more effectively reach the next generation.

He further said that during foreign invasions, the Warkari tradition and saints kept the Bhagavata Dharma alive. This tradition has been a powerful guide for society, ensuring our culture was never destroyed. Saints instilled noble thoughts in society. Sant Dnyaneshwar taught action, knowledge, morality, ethics, and devotion, giving society a broad vision. Even after hundreds of years, Mauli continues to inspire and energize the world like an unbroken, sacred sacrificial fire. Passing through the Mahadwar will strip away ego and selfishness, offering devotees a pure, spiritual experience, he added. He also assured complete cooperation for the Alandi development plan.

In his introduction, Yogi Niranjan Nath shared details of the ceremony, noting that solar energy has been introduced at the Samadhi Temple.

The Golden Kalash worship was performed by CM Fadnavis, and the launch of the official website of the Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Sansthan Committee was conducted, featuring the Dnyaneshwari (with meaning) audiobook in multiple languages. The 22-kg Golden Kalash, funded by devotees’ contributions, was installed on the Samadhi Temple. Deputy CM Shinde performed the ritual to commence the Mahadwar restoration. Individuals contributing to the Golden Kalash and Mahadwar restoration were felicitated.

Present on the occasion were Chief Trustee Adv. Rajendra Umap, Dr. Bhavarth Dekhne, Yogi Niranjan Nath, Adv. Rohini Pawar, Chaitanya Kabir, Purushottam Patil, and others.
