“There should be an impartial judicial inquiry into the entire case.” – Anurag Dhanda
“BJP cannot tolerate Dalit officers rising to high positions.” – Anurag Dhanda
“The Haryana government turned a blind eye and abandoned a senior officer.” – Anurag Dhanda
“Both the humiliation of Chief Justice Gavai and the harassment of the IPS officer stem from the BJP ecosystem.” – Anurag Dhanda
“Strict action should be taken against those found guilty in the investigation.” – Anurag Dhanda
Chandigarh, Oct 2025 : Reacting to the suspicious death of senior Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, Aam Aadmi Party’s National Media In-Charge and senior leader Anurag Dhanda said that the incident is extremely serious and deeply concerning.
He said, “It is very unfortunate that such a senior officer had to face such harassment and pressure. The BJP cannot digest the fact that a person from the Dalit community rises to a high post. Recently, in the attack against the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the entire BJP ecosystem was seen standing with the attackers.”
Dhanda further said, “When an ordinary person is called for police questioning, BJP leaders rush to rescue them. But when someone from the Dalit community achieves a high position, obscene videos are made, inflammatory statements are given, and attempts are made to defame and humiliate them. This case appears to be one such example. A senior officer was continuously harassed, and the Haryana BJP government chose to look the other way.”
He added, “BJP has been in power for over ten years, and cases of atrocities against Dalits have been steadily increasing. The BJP ecosystem wants to ensure that people from the Dalit community do not reach high positions.”
Anurag Dhanda said, “Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s Constitution has given everyone the right to equality. Regardless of which party is in power, if a Dalit officer is forced to take his own life because of unbearable pressure, it raises very serious questions. The Chief Minister may be abroad, but no one seems to care about what is happening in the state.”
He demanded a fair and thorough judicial investigation into the entire case and strict punishment for those involved.
The Aam Aadmi Party also asserted that any form of atrocity against Dalits will not be tolerated. Dhanda added that just as strict action was taken in Punjab against such regressive mindsets, similar firm action should be taken in Haryana as well.
