CM Inaugurates ‘Know Your Army’ Exhibition Showcasing Modern Weapons and Military Operations
Jaipur, January 2026: On the occasion of the 78th Army Day, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the four-day “Know Your Army” exhibition on Thursday at the Bhawani Niketan Education Society campus. The exhibition showcased the Indian Army’s advanced equipment, weapons, and operational methods, offering civilians a firsthand understanding of the forces’ capabilities.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the exhibition provides insights into modern military technology and strategies, helping the public appreciate how the Army remains vigilant day and night to ensure national security. For the first time, the Army Day parade is being held outside military cantonments in Jaipur, allowing citizens to witness discipline, bravery, sacrifice, and military strength up close.
Army Ready on Every Front
CM Sharma emphasized that the Indian Army is the shield of every citizen, the trust of every family, and the soul of the nation. From desert regions to snowbound terrains, soldiers stand ready to protect the country. He cited operations like Parakram, Rakshak, and Sindoor as examples of the Army’s ability to respond effectively to threats.

Operation Sindoor – Symbol of Anti-Terror Commitment
The Chief Minister said that Operation Sindoor demonstrated India’s firm stance against terrorism. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mission Sudarshan Chakra, India is now capable of delivering precise and powerful responses to threats. He also noted Rajasthan’s legacy of valor, giving birth to heroes like Param Vir Chakra awardees Piru Singh, Major Shaitan Singh, and Lieutenant General Sagat Singh.
Defense Production Hits Record Levels
CM Sharma stated that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the modernization of India’s armed forces has progressed at an unprecedented pace. Indigenous defense production has been prioritized under the “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives. In FY 2024-25, India’s annual defense production exceeded ₹1.51 lakh crore, with defense exports reaching a record ₹23,622 crore.
Support for Martyrs’ Families and Veterans
He highlighted government initiatives for veterans and martyrs’ families, including raising pensions for WWII non-pensioner ex-servicemen and widows, allotment of land to battle casualties’ dependents, and housing for families of CRPF personnel martyred in the Pulwama attack. A new web portal facilitates registration and services for ex-servicemen and dependents, and 418 camps resolved 1,228 pension-related cases. Contractual veterans’ allowances were increased by 10% in 2024 and 2025.
Exhibition Highlights
The exhibition displayed modern rifles, ballistic missile systems, self-propelled guns, tanks, bunkers, drones, anti-drone systems, mechanized forces, paragliding, skydiving, and dog squad demonstrations. Performances by the Army band evoked patriotic fervor. The Chief Minister also honored women achievers during the event.
The program was attended by School Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Minister Joraram Kumawat, Food & Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, senior Indian Army officials, NCC cadets, and a large number of dignitaries and citizens.
