This initiative by the Yogi government has become a major source of relief and trust for both the police and the common people. The UP Police’s UP Cop App and Citizen Portal under the Yogi government are now functioning like a “Digital Police Station” for the people of the state. Through the app, residents are not only registering FIRs from home but also availing 27 types of police services without visiting a police station.

Significant reduction in resolution time for various services via the app. The DGP said that several modern features have been added to the UP Cop App. Real-time notifications now provide applicants with immediate updates on their application status. The app is available in both Hindi and English, making it easy for people from all sections to use. For security, features like location tracking and SOS button have been upgraded. Additionally, the app allows viewing nearby police stations on a map, which is proving very useful in emergencies. There has been a substantial reduction in the time taken for resolving various services via the app.

Currently, character verification takes about 6 days compared to 8 days earlier. Tenant verification now takes around 8 days, down from 24-25 days previously, and employee verification takes about 5 days, reduced from 13 days. Alongside this, the Yogi government’s Public Grievance Review Portal has emerged as an effective medium for the common people. Through the portal, people are registering their complaints, which are being regularly reviewed and resolved in a time-bound manner. This has increased police accountability and given complainants the confidence that their concerns are being heard.
