Commonwealth Parliamentary Delegates Visit Jaipur City Palace
Jaipur, January 2026: A parliamentary delegation from Commonwealth countries, which arrived in Jaipur following the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of Commonwealth (CSPOC), visited the historic City Palace on Saturday. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari met and welcomed the Commonwealth parliamentary representatives at the City Palace and shared important insights into Rajasthan’s rich culture and heritage. The delegation members praised Rajasthan’s architectural excellence and warm hospitality, and expressed their desire to visit the state again.
During the City Palace tour, the Commonwealth delegates visited prominent landmarks within the complex, including the Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, and Pritam Niwas Chowk. They learned about Rajasthan’s distinctive architectural styles, traditional attire, art forms, and cultural legacy. The delegates also enjoyed a high tea arranged during the visit, where they sampled a variety of traditional Rajasthani cuisines.
After the City Palace visit, the Commonwealth representatives proceeded to the iconic Hawa Mahal. The delegation members highly appreciated the unique architectural design of the monument and enjoyed the captivating view of the illuminated Hawa Mahal in the evening. They also interacted with tourists and local residents present at the site and exchanged views.
It is noteworthy that the Commonwealth parliamentary delegation is on a two-day visit to Jaipur. Along with studying parliamentary practices, the delegation members are also visiting renowned historical and cultural landmarks of the city as part of their programme.
