UAE to Partner with Telangana on Bharat Future City, Revanth Reddy Secures Global Support at Davos
Hyderabad, Jan 2026 : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has agreed to partner with the Telangana government in the development of the ambitious Bharat Future City, envisioned as a top-tier global city, the state government announced on Tuesday.
The commitment was made during a meeting between UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri and the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led “Telangana Rising” delegation on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos. According to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the UAE Minister expressed keen interest in collaborating with Telangana and suggested the formation of a joint task force comprising officials from both governments to ensure the speedy and effective implementation of the project.
During the discussions, both sides explored potential areas of cooperation, with a special focus on Telangana’s large-scale infrastructure initiatives, particularly the Bharat Future City project. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and outlined the state’s future-defining roadmap to transform Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
Elaborating on the Bharat Future City, the Chief Minister highlighted the vast scope and global potential of the project, which is being developed as India’s first Net-Zero Greenfield Smart City. Spread across 30,000 acres, the city is planned as a multi-sectoral, sustainable urban-industrial hub, integrating cutting-edge infrastructure with environmental responsibility. Dedicated zones are being planned for artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, industrial development, residential communities, and entertainment, making it a holistic and future-ready urban ecosystem.
Revanth Reddy informed the UAE delegation that several global players have already partnered with the state for the project. He cited the involvement of international companies such as Marubeni and Semcorp, underscoring growing global confidence in Telangana’s vision. He also mentioned that a recent memorandum of understanding has been signed with Reliance Group’s Vantara to establish a new zoo within the Bharat Future City, further enhancing its global appeal.
In another significant development at Davos, Saudi Arabia-based industrial conglomerate Expertise expressed interest in partnering with Telangana’s Young India Skills University (YISU). Mohammed Ashif, President and CEO of Expertise, held discussions with the Telangana delegation regarding collaboration in skill development and workforce training.
Expertise, which has a strong presence across the Middle East, is engaged in providing plant maintenance and skilled manpower services in talent-intensive sectors such as petrochemicals, oil and gas, fertilisers, steel, cement, water treatment, and power generation. The company proposed a partnership with YISU to meet its annual requirement of recruiting nearly 5,000 skilled professionals.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy explained that YISU was established to bridge the gap between education and employment by offering industry-led curricula, practical training, and hands-on exposure aligned with real-world requirements. Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu added that Telangana is building a future-ready talent base through foundational education, advanced skilling programmes, apprenticeships, mentorship, and entrepreneurship, all aligned with the Vision 2047 goal of achieving a $3 trillion economy.
The Telangana government also revealed that global technology giant Google has shown interest in partnering with the state to address challenges related to agriculture and climate change. Discussions were held on issues such as the overuse of fertilisers and the urgent need to educate farmers on sustainable agricultural practices.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of preventive measures to tackle soil degradation and farming-related challenges, stating that technology-driven solutions and awareness among farmers would play a crucial role in ensuring long-term agricultural sustainability.
The series of high-level meetings at Davos, the government said, reflect Telangana’s growing global footprint and its ability to attract strategic international partnerships across infrastructure, skills, technology, and sustainable development.
