Defending Champions and Hosts Storm into Semifinals of Women’s National Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2026
Bhubaneswar, Jan 2026 : Defending champions Madhya Pradesh, along with Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and hosts Odisha, booked their places in the semifinals of the Women’s National Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2026 after registering emphatic victories in the quarterfinals on Day 5 of the competition. With these results, the tournament entered its decisive knockout stage, setting the stage for two high-voltage semifinal encounters scheduled for Wednesday.
The quarterfinal matches, played across venues in Bhubaneswar and Khordha, showcased outstanding performances and reflected the growing competitiveness and depth of talent among women cricketers with visual impairment from across the country.
At the Hitech Cricket Ground in Bhubaneswar, defending champions Madhya Pradesh Women delivered a commanding all-round display. Batting first, they posted an imposing total of 201 for 1 in their allotted 20 overs, putting the Maharashtra bowlers under sustained pressure. Backed by disciplined bowling and sharp fielding, Madhya Pradesh then restricted Maharashtra Women to 102 for 8, sealing a comprehensive 99-run victory and reaffirming their title credentials.
In another dominant performance at the KT Global School Ground in Khordha, Karnataka Women asserted their superiority with the bat, piling up a formidable 262 for 4. Their bowlers followed up with equal authority, limiting West Bengal Women to 128 for 8, as Karnataka cruised to a massive 134-run win.
The hosts Odisha Women rose to the occasion during the afternoon session at the Hitech Cricket Ground. After posting a solid total of 177 for 3, Odisha’s bowlers kept Rajasthan Women under tight control, restricting them to 116 for 9. The hosts secured a convincing 61-run victory, much to the delight of the home crowd.
Completing the semifinal lineup, Andhra Pradesh Women produced a clinical performance at the KT Global School Ground. After containing Gujarat Women to 132 for 3, Andhra Pradesh chased down the target with ease, reaching 133 for 2 in just 13.5 overs to register a convincing eight-wicket win.
With the semifinal stage now set, the tournament promises thrilling contests as four strong teams vie for a place in the final. The semifinals, scheduled for January 21, 2026, at the Hitech Cricket Ground in Bhubaneswar, are as follows:
