Four Arrested as Telangana Police Crack Nalgonda Family Murder Case in Three Days

Hyderabad, June 2026: Telangana Police have solved the sensational quadruple murder case that shocked Nalgonda district with the arrest of four accused, including the prime suspect, within three days of the crime. Investigators revealed that the killings were the result of a carefully planned conspiracy driven by personal enmity, financial disputes and a motive to rob cash and gold ornaments from the victims.

Nalgonda district Superintendent of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar said the breakthrough was achieved through an intensive investigation that relied on CCTV footage, technical surveillance, scientific evidence and meticulous questioning of suspects. The swift probe enabled police to unravel one of the district’s most disturbing murder cases in recent years.

The victims, Mohammed Sultan (45), his wife Haseena (38), their son Muzammil (20), and daughter Apsara (14), were found dead in their residence in Telangana Colony on June 22. Their bodies were discovered in a decomposed state after neighbours alerted authorities about a foul smell emanating from the house.

Police have identified the prime accused as Syed Aslam, who is related to the victims. His wife Tabassum, along with two alleged accomplices, Sohail and jeweller Hemanth Kumar, have also been arrested for their roles in the conspiracy and the subsequent disposal of the stolen valuables.

According to investigators, the motive behind the murders stemmed from an unresolved financial dispute. About a year ago, Haseena had reportedly lent Rs 1 lakh to Tabassum and Aslam. When Aslam later sought another loan of the same amount, Haseena refused and instead demanded repayment of the earlier debt. Police said this refusal sparked resentment, leading the couple to allegedly plot the family’s murder.

Investigators revealed that Aslam meticulously planned the crime after watching videos on YouTube. In the early hours of June 20, he allegedly waited outside Sultan’s residence and attacked Haseena when she stepped outside the house.

Hearing her screams, Sultan and their son Muzammil rushed out, only to be fatally stabbed by the accused. Police said Aslam then entered the house in search of the couple’s 14-year-old daughter, Apsara, who had reportedly hidden beneath a bed in fear. She was allegedly dragged out and killed, making the incident even more horrific.

After murdering all four family members, the accused allegedly looted cash, jewellery and important documents from the house before fleeing the scene.

Initially, investigators suspected the deaths might have resulted from suicide because of the advanced state of decomposition. However, post-mortem examinations confirmed that all four victims had been murdered, prompting the formation of a special investigation team.

Following extensive questioning of relatives and examination of digital evidence, police tracked down the suspects and arrested all four accused.

During the operation, police recovered a Mahindra Marazzo vehicle allegedly used in the crime, Rs 30.04 lakh in cash, five tolas of melted gold, the knife believed to have been used in the murders, three mobile phones, blood-stained clothing and several land and bank-related documents.

All four accused were produced before a local court, which remanded them to judicial custody. Police said further investigations are continuing to establish the complete sequence of events and determine whether anyone else was involved in planning or facilitating the crime.
