“Chief Minister’s Banner” Promotes Patriotism and Leadership among Youth: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the NCC is a powerful platform for instilling discipline, leadership and patriotism among youth. The events like the ‘Chief Minister’s Banner’ channel the energy of young people in a positive direction and prepare them to become responsible citizens. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the NCC Madhya Pradesh–Chhattisgarh ‘Chief Minister’s Banner’ event at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday. The event provides an opportunity to strengthen discipline, leadership skills, organisational efficiency, and the spirit of national service among youth.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that active participation from all sections is essential for the development of Madhya Pradesh, with youth needing to come forward in particular. He urged young people to channel their boundless energy responsibly and with dedication to become partners in the state’s development.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Indian Armed Forces are fully capable of protecting the nation’s borders. India has never attacked any country and has established a distinct global identity as a champion of peace. Whenever terrorists have dared to challenge the nation, Indian soldiers have displayed exceptional valour and taught terrorists hiding across the border decisive lessons. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that women’s empowerment is also being emphasised in the armed forces under the Prime Minister’s leadership. The Republic Day celebrations in 2026 were dedicated to women’s empowerment. For the first time, a woman officer led a male contingent of a paramilitary force in the Republic Day parade. He said it was a moment of immense pride to see 23 daughters from the state (NCC cadets) marching in the Republic Day Parade.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the Central Government has taken several steps, including granting permanent commissions, to provide equal opportunities to women in the armed forces and security services. Daughters are also receiving reservations under the Agnipath scheme in the Navy, and admissions of girls have begun in Sainik Schools.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the Madhya Pradesh–Chhattisgarh Directorate for winning one gold and two silver medals in the Best NCC Cadets competition at the Republic Day Camp (RDC) held in New Delhi. Cadets from 17 directorates across the country participated in this year’s RDC, and the Madhya Pradesh–Chhattisgarh Directorate secured third place with its best-ever performance. The Chief Minister honoured the NCC Republic Day contingent and praised the dedication, perseverance and continuous efforts of the cadets, instructors and officers. He presented the Best Inter-Group Chief Minister’s Banner of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for the training year 2025–26 to the NCC Group Headquarters, Jabalpur. On the occasion of Republic Day, the Chief Minister also honoured cadets who enhanced the prestige of Madhya Pradesh at the NCC camp in Delhi by presenting them with medals. Cash awards of ₹1 lakh, ₹75,000 and ₹50,000 were presented to cadets securing first, second and third positions respectively at the Republic Day Camp. NCC cadets presented a Nari Shakti group song, while NSS cadets presented the NSS song. PM Medal winner Senior Under Officer Shri Vishal Singh shared his experiences of the RDC. Chief Minister DSr. Yadav wrote a goodwill message for the NCC in the visitors’ book, congratulated all medal winners and wished them a bright future.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that, like Prime Minister Shri Modi, he too had been an NCC and NSS cadet during his school and college days. The Prime Minister takes pride in the discipline and patriotic inspiration he gained during his NCC days. NCC cadets, he said, never hesitate to strengthen the spirit and heritage of Indian democracy whenever required, in every era.
Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Shri Anupam Rajan, said that eight NSS cadets from Madhya Pradesh participated in the Republic Day Parade. The state currently has 1.56 lakh NSS cadets who have adopted more than 1,200 villages. he State Government has set a target to double the number of NSS cadets to further instil values of equality, social service, and national responsibility among youth.
Additional Director General, NCC Madhya Pradesh–Chhattisgarh Directorate, Major General Shri J.P. Singh said that the state government’s departments—especially Higher Education, School Education, Technical Education and the State Finance Department—are providing full support to strengthen and expand NCC activities in Madhya Pradesh. Land has been allotted for setting up new NCC camps in Bhopal, Jabalpur and Sagar. He said that the number of NCC cadets in the state, currently around 77,000, is targeted to reach one lakh in the coming years. With 1.7 million cadets, NCC has a distinct place globally. A total of 2,200 NCC cadets participated in the Republic Day Parade 2026, of which 136 were from the Madhya Pradesh–Chhattisgarh Directorate. The Directorate secured sixth place in 2024, fourth in 2025 and third place in 2026. Twenty-three cadets from the Directorate marched on Kartavya Path.
There are six NCC Groups under the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Directorate, located at Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar, Indore, Gwalior and Raipur, with 10 to 15 battalions under each group. Throughout the training year, battalions compete in various activities, including service subjects, firing, annual training camps, social service, adventure activities and group song competitions. Based on overall excellence, NCC Group Headquarters, Jabalpur, emerged as the champion group for the training year 2025–26.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav warmly welcomed NCC cadets and NSS volunteers at the Chief Minister’s residence by showering flowers on them. The cadets presented a salute to the Chief Minister. He was felicitated with a memento by the Additional Chief Secretary (Higher Education) and NCC officers, and he also posed for group photographs with the honoured cadets and volunteers.
