‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2026’ to Be Held in Mumbai from February 9 to 13

Mumbai, Feb 2026 :The National School of Drama (NSD), Government of India, in association with the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, is organising the grand theatre festival ‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2026’ from February 9 to 13, 2026 at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

The festival will be inaugurated by Minister for Cultural Affairs Adv. Ashish Shelar on February 9, 2026, at 6:00 pm. As part of the festival, five plays by renowned theatre groups from India and abroad will be staged. Through these performances, audiences will experience a vibrant blend of theatrical traditions, creativity, and experimental approaches across various Indian and international languages.

All performances will be open to the public free of cost, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Department of Cultural Affairs has appealed to theatre enthusiasts to take advantage of this opportunity.

As per the schedule, on February 9 at 6:30 pm, the play “Tamas” by the National School of Drama, New Delhi, will be staged at Ravindra Natya Mandir. On February 10 at 6:30 pm, the Hindi play “Babuji”, also presented by the National School of Drama, New Delhi, will be performed at the same venue.

On February 11, at 4:30 pm in the Mini Theatre, the play “Breast of Luck”, which focuses on cancer awareness, will be presented. Later the same day, at 6:30 pm at Ravindra Natya Mandir, the National School of Drama will stage “Thieves’ Carnival.”

On February 12, artists from Spain will present the Spanish-language play “Life of Dream” at Ravindra Natya Mandir. The final play of the festival, “Aadhe Adhure,” will be staged on February 13 at 6:30 pm.

Director of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Shriram Pandey, has appealed to theatre lovers to attend and enjoy these performances.
