Rajasthan Launches ‘Developed Village-Ward Campaign’ to Drive Grassroots Growth

Jaipur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday launched the Mukhyamantri Viksit Gram-Ward Abhiyan on the occasion of Rajasthan Day, marking a major initiative to transform development into a people’s movement across the state.

The Chief Minister also unveiled the campaign’s website and video, stating that the initiative aims to prepare a comprehensive development roadmap for all ग्राम पंचायतs and urban wards based on local aspirations. He emphasized that the campaign should be linked with public participation to ensure inclusive growth and improve the standard of living of citizens.

Sharma said the master plans would focus not only on infrastructure development but also on local resources, traditional skills, and employment opportunities to curb migration from villages to cities. He stressed identifying each village’s agricultural strengths, vegetation, minerals, and traditional industries, while promoting processing units, mandis, and value addition to boost incomes and generate local employment.

The campaign will run from March 19 to May 15. The first Gram Sabhas and Ward Sabhas will be held on March 20 across rural and urban areas to inform citizens about the campaign. Data will be collected through discussions with residents, and master plans will be finalized with community approval. A portal-based system, along with dynamic profiles and GIS-based mapping, will be used for evidence-based planning.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, the Chief Minister said the state has provided government jobs to over 1.25 lakh youth, empowered around 16 lakh women under the Lakhpati Didi scheme, and increased farmers’ financial support. He noted that Rajasthan’s per capita income has crossed ₹2 lakh for the first time.

He also directed officials to prepare detailed socio-economic profiles of each village, incorporating key sectors such as education, healthcare, roads, electricity, water, and employment, while engaging youth, farmers, and women in the planning process.

Sharma said the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Developed India 2047 and the state’s own Developed Rajasthan 2047 roadmap. The campaign aims to translate local aspirations into concrete development plans at the grassroots level.

Chief Secretary V. Srinivas described the campaign as a significant step toward achieving the vision of a developed Rajasthan, with coordinated implementation across departments in both rural and urban areas.

Several ministers, senior officials, and public representatives attended the event, while others joined virtually from different districts.
