DGP Flags Off 15 Electric Scooters for Police Use

Aizawl, April 2026: Pu Sharad Agarwal, IPS, Director General of Police (DGP), Mizoram, flagged off 15 electric scooters procured under the Police Modernization scheme. The scooters, manufactured by Ather Company, were distributed for use by various police stations and the Aizawl Traffic Police. The flag-off ceremony took place at 11:00 a.m. at the Police Headquarters.

On the occasion, the DGP stated that the electric scooters were procured to enhance women’s safety and improve public security. He urged the receiving units to make effective use of the scooters for patrolling and maintaining law and order in the community.

The scooters have been distributed as follows:

• Aizawl Police Station – 2
• All Women Police Station – 1
• Bawngkawn Police Station – 2
• Vaivakawn Police Station – 2
• Kulikawn Police Station – 2
• Zonuam Outpost – 1
• Aizawl City Traffic Police – 3
• Lunglei Police Station – 1
• Champhai Police Station – 1
