Netanyahu Vows Intensified Offensive Against Iran After Killing of Senior IRGC Figures
Jerusalem, April 2026 : Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday reaffirmed Israel’s determination to continue its military campaign against Iran, declaring that operations would persist “with full force on all fronts” until all strategic objectives are achieved and perceived threats are neutralised.
The Israeli leader made the remarks while confirming the elimination of key Iranian military figures, including Majid Khademi, head of intelligence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Asghar Bagheri, a senior commander in the Quds Force’s special operations unit.
In a post on social media, Netanyahu described the killings as a significant blow to what he termed Iran’s “terror network,” asserting that Israel would relentlessly pursue individuals and groups involved in attacks against its citizens. He warned that those orchestrating or supporting violence against Israel would face severe consequences.
“Another central arm of the Iranian terror regime has been severed,” Netanyahu said, adding that Israel’s actions demonstrate its resolve to dismantle threats posed by Iran and its regional allies. He further stated that Israel would continue targeting what he described as the “Iranian axis of evil” until it is effectively neutralised.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also confirmed the deaths of Khademi and Bagheri in separate statements. According to the IDF, Khademi was one of the IRGC’s most senior commanders, with extensive experience in intelligence and counter-operations. He was reportedly involved in planning and facilitating attacks beyond Iran’s borders and played a role in monitoring domestic dissent.
Bagheri, meanwhile, was described as a key figure behind multiple operations targeting Israeli interests globally. The IDF stated that he had personally overseen missions directed at Israeli forces, particularly along the Syrian-Israeli frontier, and had been instrumental in coordinating attacks through the Quds Force’s external operations wing.
In addition to these developments, Israeli forces claimed responsibility for the earlier killing of Mohammad Reza Ashrafi Kahi, a senior official linked to the IRGC’s oil division. The IDF alleged that Ashrafi Kahi managed significant financial operations that supported Iran’s military capabilities as well as allied groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis.
The latest strikes mark a further escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, which has seen increased military activity and heightened rhetoric from both sides in recent weeks. Analysts suggest that targeting senior IRGC officials reflects a broader strategy by Israel to weaken Iran’s operational and financial networks.
Netanyahu reiterated that Israel remains committed to defending its citizens and will continue its campaign until all threats are eliminated. He emphasised that the current operations are part of a larger effort to ensure long-term security and stability for the country.
The situation continues to evolve, with tensions across the region remaining high and concerns growing over the potential for a wider conflict involving multiple actors.
