ITI Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha to Present Proposal to Cabinet for Contractual Hiring of Experienced Hourly Directors

Mumbai : Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha announced that a proposal will be presented to the Cabinet to hire experienced hourly directors on a contractual basis within the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI).

He was speaking at a meeting organized at the request of Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar. Minister Lodha suggested that the Skill Development Department should take positive steps to integrate experienced hourly directors into the Government ITI on a contractual basis, following Mungantiwar’s recommendation.

The meeting, held in the Skill Development Minister’s hall, addressed the temporary contractual appointment of hourly directors in government ITIs. Forest Minister Mungantiwar, Secretary of Skill Development Department Ganesh Patil, Director of Business and Education Board Satish Suryavanshi, Senior Administrative Officer Anil Kumar Hotkar, and Maharashtra State ITI Directors Rupesh Taide, Prashant Bhondve, and Rohan Saraf were present.

Minister Lodha noted that appointing experienced directors on an hourly basis is a strategic decision. A proposal will be prepared and submitted to the Cabinet for approval. He assured that the Skill Development Department would fully support resolving this matter.

Forest Minister Mungantiwar emphasized that many individuals have worked at government ITIs for years with low remuneration. However, with the recent recruitment of 1,457 posts under the department, several experienced hourly directors have been retrenched, leading to potential unemployment. Mungantiwar advocated for these experienced directors to be accommodated on a contractual basis within the department. He further noted that the Maharashtra State ITI Directors’ Association has called for a special policy to address this issue. Mungantiwar urged the Skill Development Department to take positive action and seek Cabinet approval for this matter.
