Madhya Pradesh becomes the role model of womens empowerment

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that education, health, safety, and self-reliance of women and daughters are on top priority of the state government. For the empowerment of women, many schemes have been implemented effectively in the state and women have been made self-reliant. The ‘Madhya Pradesh Model’ of women empowerment is unique in the country, inspired by which other states have also followed the women’s welfare schemes of Madhya Pradesh and implemented them in their states.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that whether it is about providing a permanent roof to every family through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or providing freedom from open defecation by building toilets in every house, be it providing pure drinking water to people through Nal-Jal Yojana or resolving to make the kitchen smoke-free through the Ujjwala Yojana, all these schemes have been effectively implemented in the state. Apart from this, we have not only promoted the self-employment of women but also made them Lakhpati Didis to make them self-reliant, by providing financial support to self-help groups. Today the products manufactured by the women of the group are being sold in the markets. Besides, they are also being sold through online marketing.

Budget of the Women and Child Development Department hiked by 81 percent

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, our government is working diligently to fulfill every resolve of women’s empowerment. The state government has increased the budget of the Women and Child Development Department by 81 percent and made a provision of Rs 26 thousand 560 crore in the current financial year 2024-25. In this, a provision of more than Rs 18 thousand 984 crore has been made for Ladli Behena Yojana. He said that more than one crore 25 lakh Ladli Behnas of the state are benefiting from this scheme. The state government will leave no stone unturned to protect their honor and self-respect.

Important decisions in the interest of women

  • Taking a big decision in the interest of women, the state government has given additional exemption on stamp duty for registering land, shops, and houses in their name. With this, women have acquired the power of property and respect in society.
  • Under the Sanitation and Hygiene Scheme, Rs 57 crore 18 lakh has been transferred to the bank accounts of more than 19 lakh girls.
  • In Madhya Pradesh, women are being given 50 percent reservation in civic elections and teacher recruitment, 33 percent in police recruitments, and 35 percent in other recruitments.
  • Provision for special incentives for women was also made in the start-up policy, as a result of which 47 percent of the total start-ups in the state are owned by women.
  • An assistance of Rs 275 crore was provided to 850 MSME units for the promotion of women entrepreneurs.
  • Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to give death penalty to rapists.
  • In Madhya Pradesh, the Religious Freedom Act was implemented to prevent forced or coerced marriage and religious conversion of women.
  • Successful implementation of Ladli Lakshmi Yojana is going on for the education of daughters and their bright future. More than 48 lakh Ladli Lakshmi are benefiting from the scheme. This scheme has also reflected improvement in the sex ratio in the state.
  • So far 42 lakh women beneficiaries have been registered under the Pradhan Mantri Matru-Vandana Yojana. The objective of the scheme is to provide a cash incentive to pregnant women in the form of partial compensation for wage loss and to encourage the birth of a girl child in the second delivery.
  • Women helpline 181 and child helpline 1098 are operated to assist women affected by violence.
  • One-stop centers are operated in every district to help women in distress.
  • Training was given under the Sashakt Vahini programme to increase self-confidence and skills among girls. Till now 128 girls have been selected in police/government departments.
  • 81 lakh children, pregnant/lactating mothers, and adolescent girls are being benefited in more than 97 thousand Anganwadis in the state. Online attendance and Anganwadi Assets Diary facility have been started in Anganwadis.
  • Female players who participated with medalists in national and international sports competitions were encouraged with cash incentives.
