Farmer Laxman is earning good profit from cultivation of marigold flowers

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai is encouraging farmers to take up other crops along with agriculture to make them economically strong. The Horticulture Department is motivating the farmers of the state to cultivate flowers, so that they can get self-employment opportunities and the income of the farmers can increase continuously. In this sequence, the Horticulture Department under Jashpur District Administration is training the farmers to plant saplings using modern technology. With the consent of the farmers, flower saplings are being planted in their private land.

In this episode, Shri Laxman Kumar Banjara, a resident of village Hathgada of Kansabel development block, planted a marigold plant. Shri Banjara said that the Horticulture Department provided him technical guidance on the importance and benefits of flower production and planted marigold saplings in his garden with his own means. He said that by doing advanced cultivation of marigold, good production of marigold flowers has started. Due to good demand of marigold flowers in the local market as well as in the surrounding area, he has received an income of Rs 52 thousand in the season. He says that he is satisfied with farming and will continue to increase his income by producing advanced flowers in the future.
