CM Bhajanlal Sharma Inspects Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Station, Issues Directives for Smooth Operation
State Government Committed to Uninterrupted Power Supply for Farmers and the Public – CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Jaipur : As part of his two-day visit to Hanumangarh and Sri Ganganagar, Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma visited the Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Station in Sri Ganganagar on Wednesday. During his visit, he inspected the power station and directed the concerned officials to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the power generation units, so that uninterrupted electricity supply can be provided to farmers and the general public during the summer season.
In a meeting held at the power station’s conference hall, Mr. Sharma instructed officials to conduct timely inspections of all technical aspects of the power station. He emphasized that such proactive measures would help avoid power outages due to breakdowns or technical failures and prevent shutdowns of production units. He also directed regular monitoring of the power generation capacity of all units.
State Government Committed to Enhancing Power Generation Capacity
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to increasing Rajasthan’s power generation capacity using advanced technology at reduced costs. In line with this, work orders have already been issued for the installation of a 125/250 megawatt-hour Battery Energy Storage System at the Suratgarh Thermal Power Station. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between RVUNL and Coal India for the establishment of a 100 MW solar power plant at the same site. These major initiatives aim to fulfill the state government’s commitment to providing daytime electricity to farmers.
Present during the visit were Food & Civil Supplies Minister Shri Sumit Godara, Water Resources Minister Shri Suresh Singh Rawat, Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Shri Heeralal Nagar, Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Shri Abhay Kumar, CMD of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) Shri Devendra Shringi, Chief Engineer and Additional Secretary (West) Shri Amarjeet Singh, Chief Engineer of Suratgarh Super Critical Thermal Power Station Shri K.C. Singhal, along with various public representatives and senior officials.
