Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti 2025 Observed in Aizawl

Aizawl : Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti 2025 was observed today at Mizoram University, jointly organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS), Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Mizoram, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Mizoram. The event featured a “Jai Bhim Padyatra”, flagged off by Pu V. Malsawmtluanga, MLA, and Vice-Chairman, High Powered Committee (HPC), Lunglei.

In his address, Pu V. Malsawmtluanga emphasized the immense contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, highlighting his lifelong commitment to social justice and equality. He underscored the importance of voluntary service in nation-building, especially through initiatives led by NSS and NYKS, which continue to empower and engage youth in community development.

The participants were led by Dr. B. Lalzarliana, Programme Officer of the NSS Unit at Mizoram University, and carried out the Padyatra with spirited slogans such as “Jai Bhim – Jai Bhim” and “Indian Constitution – Zindabad.” They also recited the Preamble to the Indian Constitution as part of the event.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Benjamin L. Saitluanga, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, Mizoram University.
