Dairy Reforms Empowering Farmers: Minister Kedar Kashyap

Deputy CM and Cooperation Minister Review Dairy Development in Gujarat

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma and Cooperation Minister Kedar Kashyap recently visited Gujarat to review the progress in the dairy sector. As part of their tour, they inspected the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) office in Anand, Gujarat, and held discussions with the officials there to gain detailed insights into innovations and developments in milk production.

Speaking with NDDB officials, Minister Kedar Kashyap said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is taking significant steps to improve farmers’ financial well-being through comprehensive dairy sector reforms. He highlighted that these reforms are not only enhancing farmers’ income but also revitalizing the rural economy.

Praising the efforts of the NDDB, Minister Kashyap remarked that Chhattisgarh is swiftly moving towards self-reliance in milk production, much like Gujarat. He expressed confidence that in the coming years, Chhattisgarh’s farmers would set new benchmarks in milk production and processing.

Notably, on December 16, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Dairy Federation (Urla, Durg) and the National Dairy Development Board (Anand, Gujarat). The agreement aims to promote dairy entrepreneurship and enhance milk collection and processing capacity in Chhattisgarh.

Present on the occasion were Subrat Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary (Cooperation), Kuldeep Sharma, Commissioner of Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, the Managing Director of NDDB, and other senior departmental officials.
