Tamil Nadu CM Udhayanidhi Stalin Launches Registration for Chief Minister’s Trophy 2025 with ₹37 Crore Prize Pool
Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department has officially launched registrations for the Chief Minister’s Trophy 2025, with an impressive total prize money of ₹37 crore. The event was inaugurated today (17th July 2025) in Chennai by Hon’ble Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin.
The Chief Minister’s Trophy is part of the Tamil Nadu Government’s initiative to promote a sporting culture across the state and identify athletic talent. These competitions are conducted at the district, zonal, and state levels across five categories: school students, college students, rural youth, differently-abled persons, and government employees.
In 2024, ₹83.37 crore was allocated for organizing these competitions successfully across various levels. The Chief Minister’s Trophy Games 2025 are scheduled to be held between 22nd August and 12th September 2025.
Competitions will include:
- District Level: 25 types of sporting events
- Zonal Level: 7 types of sporting events
- State Level: 37 types of sporting events

Deadline for registration: 6:00 PM on 16th August 2025
Who can participate?
- School students (under 19 years) from Class 6 to 12
- College students (under 25 years)
- Rural youth aged 15–35
- Differently-abled individuals of all ages
- Employees of the Tamil Nadu Government, Public Sector Undertakings, and Central Government offices in Tamil Nadu
Prize Structure (State-Level):
- Individual Events:
🥇 1st Prize – ₹1,00,000
🥈 2nd Prize – ₹75,000
🥉 3rd Prize – ₹50,000 - Team Events (per member):
🥇 1st Prize – ₹75,000
🥈 2nd Prize – ₹50,000
🥉 3rd Prize – ₹25,000
Participants will also receive special appreciation certificates and awards to recognize their talent.

The event saw participation from key officials including Mr. Atulya Misra, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department, and Mr. M.K.
