Mumbai City District Collectors Invited to Participate in Special Short Revision Program of Electoral Roll.

Mumbai : A special brief verification program is being conducted by Polling Center Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure the accuracy and currency of the voter list. As part of this Revision Program, the Consolidated Form Voter List will be released on July 25, 2024. A special Short Revision Program Campaign will be held in the Mumbai City District on July 27 and 28, 2024, and August 3 and 4, 2024. On these dates, all BLOs will be present at polling stations. Mumbai City Collector Sanjay Yadav has urged citizens to participate in the special brief revision program of the voter list.

Today, Collector Yadav chaired a meeting to discuss the special short revision program for the voter list. During the meeting, he emphasized the following points:

Under the short revision program, voters can register missing names, correct errors, and transfer names in the voter list. These updates can be done online, and a house visit program by BLOs is also planned. The revision campaign will include new voter registrations, deletion of names of deceased voters, and addressing the issue of migrant voters.

To increase voter turnout, there will be a focus on establishing more polling stations in cooperative housing societies.

Electoral Roll Special Brief Revision Program:

  • July 25: Promulgation of proforma voter list.
  • July 25 to August 9: Acceptance of claims and objections on the voter list.
  • August 19: Deadline for disposal of claims and objections, with the Chief Electoral Officer’s confirmation required for final publication, updating the database, and preparation of the supplementary list.
  • August 20: Release of the final voter list.

The meeting also covered strategies to boost voter registration and public awareness. Citizens are encouraged to participate in awareness programs and to register if they are not already listed as voters. A special campaign will be launched in colleges to increase voter registration among 18 to 19-year-olds. Collector Yadav also urged citizens to visit the website https://voters.eci.gov.in or use the voter helpline mobile app for online name registration or updates.

The meeting was attended by Chief Coordinating Officer of Sweep Farog Mukadam, Deputy Collector (Election) Shyamsundar Suravse, concerned Deputy Collectors, and senior officials from the Labor and Cooperative Departments.
