Health Camps Set Up by Punjab Government in Flood-Affected Areas, 51,000 People Turn Up on First Day

Chandigarh, Sept 2025 :After the floods in Punjab, the situation was difficult, but the government did not delay even for a moment. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party government has proven that true leadership is about treating a challenge as a responsibility, stepping into the field, and standing firmly with Punjab’s soil, every village, every lane, and every household.

The Health Department’s report of September 15 shows that the Mann government is not only providing relief but also setting an example of trust. The special health campaign launched in 2,303 villages has sparked new hope across the state. So far, health camps have been set up in 2,016 villages, where the health of 51,612 people has been checked, and they were given treatment and medicines on the spot. These were people left helpless after the floods, but today, along with relief, they feel that the government is there for them and beside them.

The most notable aspect of this campaign is that the government itself is reaching out to people. In 1,929 villages, ASHA workers have gone door-to-door, checking the health of 1,32,322 families so far and providing medicines and medical kits to those in need. These kits include ORS, paracetamol, Dettol, band-aids, creams, and essential medicines. People themselves are saying that, for the first time, the government has come knocking on their doors without being called.

Along with healthcare, the speed of work done for cleanliness and disease prevention has also become the new face of Punjab’s administrative style. So far, mosquito breeding sites have been checked in 1,861 villages, covering 1,08,770 houses. In 2,163 houses, where larvae were found, immediate action was taken, spraying larvicide in 23,630 houses. In addition, fogging has been carried out in 878 villages to eliminate risks like dengue and malaria from the root. The pace of fogging is such that multiple villages are being covered in a single day. No corner, no lane, no house has been left out of the government’s attention. These are not just figures; they are the result of a mindset that treats the people like family.

When every minister, MLA, officer, and employee of the government is in the field, when teams have modern resources, medical equipment, and technical strength, and when the intent to work is clear, then change does not remain a dream—it becomes a reality.

Today, not only medicines are reaching Punjab’s villages, but a message is also reaching there: the government does not step back from responsibility; it steps forward to fulfill its duty. This health mission of the Mann government has now become not just a government initiative but a symbol of public trust. And this is why today, Punjab’s voice is clear: “This is not just a government, this is our service… and the Aam Aadmi Party government is, in the truest sense, our government!”
