Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla and Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Indian AI Summit organised by Dev Sanskriti University, Haridwar.
Sept 2025 : The program began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony jointly performed by Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Vice Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti University Dr. Chinmay Pandya, and other dignitaries.
Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla said that in the modern era, the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is significant. Today, AI is being used in many fields. He emphasized that AI should be integrated with spiritual values and highlighted the importance of initiatives to spread India’s knowledge and culture worldwide through AI. He stressed the need for synergy between science and spirituality and expressed hope that Dev Sanskriti University would work towards strengthening future generations through technological innovation.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to Dev Sanskriti University and Dr. Chinmay Pandya for organizing the AI summit aimed at bridging spirituality and science. He said that ancient Indian culture represents a unique confluence of knowledge, science, and spirituality. Our Sanatan culture is not based solely on faith and belief, but is also the outcome of deep scientific thought, reflection, and research. This distinctiveness, he added, is why Indian culture has contributed countless scientific discoveries to the world.
The Chief Minister further said that today, along with science and technology, AI is extensively influencing all aspects of life. AI technology is not only simplifying daily living but also driving innovation in industry, medicine, education, agriculture, and other fields. If harnessed in the right direction with the right purpose, AI can bring significant improvements in many areas and play a vital role in making people’s lives better.
Dr. Chinmay Pandya, Asia Commissioner for the UN-established Special Commission on Faith and Artificial Intelligence, said that AI today is not limited to technology alone but is bringing revolutionary changes in education, medicine, industry, and security. However, he also highlighted concerns regarding ethics, privacy, data security, and employment.
Through a video message, Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Switzerland, Shri Martin Chungong, shared insights on AI’s global role.
On this occasion, Dr. Abhishek Singh, CEO of India’s AI Mission, along with Robert Trager, William Jones, Swami Rupendra Prakash, Stuart Russell, Jaan Tallinn, and Dr. Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, shared their perspectives as AI experts.
Also present were MLA Shri Madan Kaushik, former MLA Swami Yatishwaranand, District Panchayat Chairperson Kiran Chaudhary, Minister of State Dr. Jaipal Singh Chauhan, Om Prakash Jamdagni, Sunil Saini, District President Ashutosh Sharma, District Magistrate Mayur Dikshit, Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh Dobal, HRDA Vice President Anshul Singh, Chief Development Officer Akanksha Konde, along with students of Dev Sanskriti University.
