SP is anti-reservation and anti-Ambedkar: Dr. Nirmal

Lucknow, Sept 2025 : Dr. Lalji Prasad Nirmal, former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste Finance Development Corporation and MLC, on Thursday, criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its leader Akhilesh Yadav, alleging longstanding opposition to reservation and Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

He claimed that during SP rule, reservations in promotions for Dalit employees were ended, and opportunities for OBC employees were ignored. Dr. Nirmal also alleged that an SP MP tore up a bill providing reservation in promotions for Dalits and that several SP leaders have made disrespectful remarks against Ambedkar.

Addressing recent SP criticism of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Hazratganj visit, Dr. Nirmal said the party’s claim of “Ganjing” was false. Under SP rule, he said, women feared going out, whereas the Yogi government has strengthened women’s safety.

He further accused SP leaders of exploiting caste for personal gain, claiming that land grabs and appointment manipulation were possible under their rule, but are no longer tolerated. Dr. Nirmal asserted that the Yogi government is committed to eradicating casteism, implementing public welfare schemes, and protecting the rights of Dalits and other marginalized communities, ensuring they are no longer misled by SP promises.
