Sept 2025 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta inaugurated an automated multi-level shuttle-type parking facility in M Block market in Greater Kailash-1. The inauguration took place as part of the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ organized to commemorate the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi. Built at a total cost of ₹63.74 crore, this state-of-the-art parking facility will be able to accommodate 399 vehicles.

Delhi government’s Urban Development Minister Sh Ashish Sood, Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, New Delhi MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, MLA Smt Shikha Roy, Deputy Mayor Sh Jai Bhagwan Yadav, Standing Committee Chairman Smt Satya Sharma, MCD Leader of the House Sh Parvesh Wahi, Standing Committee Vice Chairman Sh Sunder Singh, Ward Committee Chairman Sh Umed Singh Phogat, MCD Commissioner Sh Ashwani Kumar, a large number of dignitaries, local citizens, and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

In her address, Delhi Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta stated, “The Seva Pakhwada, which began on Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, is serving the public. This automated parking system, which has been under construction for several years, is being dedicated to the people of Delhi today. This automated parking system will reduce traffic congestion and provide safe and organized parking to citizens, making the capital’s traffic smoother and more convenient.”

Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta further said, “Parking is a major issue in Delhi. It causes traffic jams and road chaos. Disputes often arise among people. Our government is making every effort to address Delhi’s parking problem. We believe that parking facilities should be provided wherever technology is available.”

The Chief Minister stated, “Our goal is to install approx 100 automated parking systems in Delhi to provide a permanent solution to Delhi’s parking issues.”

Smt Rekha Gupta assured all MLAs, councillors, and market associations that “the BJP government in Delhi will provide all possible financial support for public amenities and development projects. There will never be a shortage of funds for public amenities and development projects.”

She stated, “I want all our public representatives in Delhi to be proactive in ensuring that no road, drain, or footpath remains in broken condition. Every park in the area should be beautiful, parking should be available, and no garbage remain in the area. If you take responsibility for all these civic amenities, then it is our responsibility to provide funds.”

On this occasion, Smt Rekha Gupta inspected the automated shuttle parking facility, where she was briefed on the car parking operations. The multi-level shuttle parking facility located in M Block Market, Greater Kailash 1, is built on an area of 2245 square meters and has a capacity of 399 cars. This parking lot is fully automated, requiring no human intervention for parking and unloading. Entry and exit to the parking lot is from the ground floor.

This parking lot includes a basement, ground floor, and a seven-story building, with a parking capacity of 57 cars per level. The total cost of this project, including 10-year operation and maintenance, is ₹63.74 crore. The project includes an underground water tank with a capacity of 1.5 lakh liters and special provisions for fire fighting.

The Chief Minister urged the market association and local residents to utilize solar panels. She stated that the government’s vision is to install as many solar panels as possible in all government buildings, as well as in private homes and shops, so that Delhi, along with the entire country, is illuminated with green energy.

Speaking on the occasion, Delhi’s Urban Development Minister Sh Ashish Sood expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta and said that previous governments had no interest in completing this project, which began in 2022.

In his address, Sh Ashish Sood said that this modern parking system is a key component of “urban infrastructure and this is a great example of planning”. It will help reduce traffic congestion in the capital and provide safe and organized parking facilities to citizens.
On this occasion, Mayor of Delhi Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh said that this new parking system reflects the Chief Minister’s commitment to the people of Delhi.

The Mayor stated that the achievements of the BJP government in Delhi, led by the illustrious Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modiji and Smt Rekha Gupta, in just 15 days, far exceed the work done by previous Delhi governments in ten years. The Mayor stated, “Despite having sufficient funds, previous Delhi governments did nothing for the people of Delhi except corruption.”

The Mayor said, “Just as Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta is constantly addressing the problems of the people of Delhi by taking everyone along, I have full confidence that our Chief Minister will transform Delhi in the next five years.”

On this occasion, New Delhi BJP MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta for inaugurating this parking system in the New Delhi parliamentary constituency.

She said that with this parking lot in Greater Kailash, the BJP government has added a new chapter to Delhi’s development. She explained that this parking lot, equipped with the latest technology, will facilitate parking.

On this occasion, Greater Kailash MLA Smt Shikha Roy expressed her gratitude to the Delhi Government and the MCD for the inauguration of the fully automated parking lot and said that the Delhi Government is reaching out to the public, something no other government has done in the last 11 years.

She stated that this parking facility will not only prove to be a boon for shopkeepers and customers, but local residents can also avail of this parking facility by paying a monthly fee.

On this occasion, MCD Commissioner Sh Ashwani Kumar said that this multi-level parking lot will solve the traffic problem in the Greater Kailash Market.

Commissioner Sh Ashwani Kumar expressed confidence that other ongoing development projects of the MCD will be completed soon.

Five car lifts have been installed for entry and exit to the Greater Kailash parking lot located in M Block. The Delhi Fire Service has given in-principle approval for the parking facility. The exterior of the parking complex will be used to generate revenue from advertising, with 30 percent going to the agency and 70 percent going to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

The basement has been constructed to house an underground water tank, pump room, and services. Parking space is available for 114 SUVs and 285 sedans. The structure is 32.50 meters high.
